Worst of all my two boys aged 9 and 12 would never go back could not use indoor pool at all,outside was open to them but freezing cold. Prices as expected high a pint of lager seven euros??? « less

This hotel is used by many cruise lines for pre and post cruise stays,Although we were on a cruise we booked this hotel through Thomson at a price half of what the cruise line, Princess was asking.We stayed there 5 days and on two of the evenings we ate first of all at a restaurant next door ARTURO which I would not reccommend. The staff there were surly and unhelpful and when requiring service each time had to leave the table to get a waiter. The other restaurant in the opposite direction IL Giardino D' ABruzzo was the reverse. A typical family run business offering superb meals,excellent service all at a great price.The kind of place that makes you want to be sure you recognise with a good tip. One point I would make is that all hotels have to charge 3 euro per person per night as a tax over and above your bill. This amount is soon to be increased so please calculate this in with your costs. The hotel has shuttle buses to town and the airport. A good stay « less

As far as he city tax, we are per policy obliged to charge it, because this is a tax you have to pay for your stay in the city of Rome (you surely know, you also have to pay this tax in other important touristic cities like Amsterdam, London,..). Anyway, Rome worth it!

We went as part of a group, on an event that meant that we were often in tshirts and shorts. The staff treated us with respect and friendliness that is not often found in multi-starred hotels. Our first dinner was a superb BBQ outside, with copious amounts of salad and various meats on the BBQ.
Lovely toiletries - and the chocolates were very welcome! The Sleep Service - including aromatherapy pulse oil and pillow sprays were lovely!
Service from the waiting staff is excellent, the room clean, well appointed and tempoerature controllable. Convenient for both the Vatican and the city centre, and there is a hotel shuttle service to both and the airport. The General Manager, Davide Grilli, is everything a good hotel manager should be - the attention to detail and service is second to none. « less

As a member of cruisecritic I saw that a lot of people were getting a hotel in the center of Rome after our transatlantic cruise. I was not able to find a reasonably priced vacancy and ended up at the Crowne which is a few miles from the center. The hotel is wonderful! Our room was immaculate, the front desk very helpful, the decor is lovely. This is an older hotel but is nicely maintained. We took the bus shuttle service every day back and forth to the hotel and found it to be timely and inexpensive. Breakfast was not included in our price...that would have made it perfect! « less

While not exactly at St. Peter's, it was a short bus ride for only 1.50 euros, or a quick taxi.
By the way, the small restaurants by St. Peter's are Excellent! « less
