Just as the French Quarter is perfectly situated in the heart of New Orleans, the Bienville House Hotel is perfectly situated in the midst of the historic French Quarter. Having just completed a multi million dollar renovation, the 83-room hotel is a truly distinctive establishment with a sense of style and grace only to be found in America’s most interesting city.
Many guests at the Bienville House feel that they’re visiting a centuries-old French Quarter manor house rather than an upscale boutique hotel. The lobby, reminiscent of a French Quarter parlor, is elegantly appointed with hand-painted murals and Old World furnishings. A flagstone courtyard surrounds a crystal blue pool, wrought iron balconies grace many guestrooms, four welcoming sundecks invite you to relax and drink in the flavor of the most European of cities. Guests will delight in a host of luxurious in-room amenities that make your hotel room a welcome respite from all the bustle of the French Quarter.
Guests at the Bienville House will also find themselves in a prime location, amidst the city’s finest antique shops on Royal Street, Bourbon Street, late-night jazz clubs, world renowned restaurants, centuries-old historic buildings, museums, voodoo shops and more. Bienville House Hotel is the closest French Quarter hotel to Saks Fifth Avenue, the Aquarium of the Americas, Woldenberg Park, Entergy IMAX Theater, the House of Blues, and only steps from Cafe Du Monde and Jackson Square.
Bienville House Hotel is a place like no other, one you will want to visit again and again. Come experience it for yourself.

I was in New Orleans for a wedding and the wedding party had booked a group of rooms at the Bienville House and the more famous Monteleone just up the street. I chose the Bienville House because I enjoy the boutique atmosphere and I was fascinated with the pictures of its garden pool.
The place did not disappoint. The rooms were beautiful. If you're looking for a lot of space, this may not be the place for you, but the interest and charm were certainly present. Four post beds, the type of decor one would expect to find in the French Quarter, a spacious bathroom, and interestingly, the floor sloped upwards in our 3rd story room. Linens were impeccable, and the towels were slightly larger than typical hotel towels. The cleanliness was everything one would expect from a hotel of this caliber.
If you're staying in the French Quarter, proximity is everything, and the Bienville House is easily within walking distance to everything you'll want to do. Bourbon Street is just a few blocks away, the riverboat Natchez even closer, and many of the better restaurants seem to be within an eight-block radius. It's also just far enough from Bourbon that you may just catch a good night's sleep, though.
The only complaint I had about the place was at checkout. The bellhop took a $10 tip to ensure a taxi would be front and center to get us to the airport at 1:00. He then went on lunch and 1:30 rolled around, and with repeated inquiries to the front desk, no one could find him or a cab. The front desk ultimately remedied the situation, but this was a rather unpleasant end to an otherwise great stay. We very nearly missed our flight, though. « less

I stayed here in May, 2013, for an extra day following a conference held at another hotel. I wanted to move to be closer to the French Quarter. I loved the quaintness of the hotel and decor. I had a 2 double bed room with balcony over the courtyard. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. I loved it! Also, I thought possibly the plumbing would not be as modern as at my previous hotel, but the water pressure in the shower was better. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved it, and I would stay there again if I come back to NOLA. « less

What a wonderful little hotel in the French Quarter..so close to everything..but quiet.Small breakfasts, coffee, tea, juice, muffins, cereals with excellent service just enough to get your day started. We stayed in a room with an outside veranda view of inner courtyard...roomy and comfortable.Front desk staff order cabs when we needed them and booked our tours and gave us good recommendations on where to eat and visit. We would stay here again very quaint, small personalized service. « less

We stayed for Jazz Fest this year, it was our first time staying at Bienville House. I love the historic qualities of the hotel and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was decorated beautifully, but had a musty smell and the bathroom was not very clean. Location is great, much quieter than hotels closer to Bourbon St. but still so convenient to everything. « less

Superb Location in the Middle of all New Orleans History and scenic area. Rooms are beautifully appointed with mixture of modern and antiques. Bathrooms are small but have all necessary amenities and quite comfortable. Stayed in balcony room, biggest drawback = noise.. About 5am trains and street cleaners and garbage pick up were out in full force! « less
