Le Montrose is really quite an ordinary hotel. It's in a good location on a quiet residential street very close to the Sunset Strip.
The hallways are really bleak (flourescent lights and tired wallpaper. The two level experience is inconvenient as the rooms aren't large enough to make it anything but clumsy. The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and it couldn't be much uglier on the outside. It's a mediocre apartment building in a great location that has been turned into a quasi-like hotel experience. Not enough to feel like a suite but with a nice dressing area outside of the tiny bathroom. Wouldn''t stay here again -- just my personal preference. The staff was pleasant. « less

Very well located, just 2 blocks away from sunset Bvld, 10-15 mins drive to Beverly hills, Hollywood Blvd, 25 mins from Universal Studios, few malls located within 15-20 mins drive. only thing I think which wasn't as great was the parking $38 a day, that is expensive, but there is a valet service 24 hrs. I would suggest renting a car, as taxi would be way too expensive. Really nice the rooftop pool. « less

I was unsure where to stay in West Hollywood as it was my first time to Los Angeles. I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. When I drove up to the hotel it didn't look like anything special from the outside. It just looked like the surrounding buildings. Then when I walked into the hotel I quickly saw the thought that was put in to the decor of the hotel. It is a bit dark in the lobby and elevators but that just adds to the atmosphere of the place. The staff were all very friendly, from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff you'd pass in the hall. The rooms are very clean and spacious. They look like the pictures on the website. The bed I had was very comfortable and they offer premium HD TV channels. There is a roof top pool that is absolutely lovely to hang out by. There is also a good sized hot tub. The hotel offers a restaurant/lounge for hotel guests. I ate there one night and was pleased by the food and the service. I travel often and have stayed in many hotels. This was definitely one of my favorites. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend. « less

This was my first time back to the hotel in many years and the renovation is spectacular. This gem of a hotel on a very quiet street in Weho, offers a great gym, super roof top pool with a view of Hollywood right out of the movies, and superlative customer service one cannot get in a large brand hotel. Easy to stroll down to Santa Monica Blvd. coffee houses and restaurants and Sunset Blvd. This is always my first choice when staying in L.A. « less
