Location. Housed in a listed 17th century convent building, the centrally located Couvent des Minimes, opened in 1990, faces onto a restored cobbled quayside 100 metres from Lille's largest park. The nearest airport is Lille Lesquin Airport (LIL), 12 kilometres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The hotel has retained many historical features such as cloisters with vaulted ceilings and original red brick walls. Framed pictures of the building's transformation are shown on the walls of the upper floors, while temporary exhibitions by contemporary painters and sculptors are displayed in the atrium. The hotel can accommodate up to 300 people in six air conditioned meeting rooms; all are equipped with wireless Internet. A comprehensive range of packages and menus is offered for conferences, cocktail parties and weddings.
The marble floored Couvent des Minimes atrium, bordered by original 17th century vaulted cloisters, is the hub of hotel life. A hot and cold buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are served here in the restaurant, and evening piano entertainment accompanies guests while they sample the bar's speciality cocktails and cigars.
Guestrooms. The four storey Couvent des Minimes houses 83 guestrooms and suites, all of which are decorated in warm red, terracotta and peach tones with dark wood furnishings. Amenities include minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, high speed and wireless Internet (surcharge) and satellite television. Marble bathrooms come with showers and tubs, bathrobes, hair dryers, and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries.
Expert Tip. Just outside the hotel, beyond the Deûle waterway, lies a tree lined park comprising Squares Foch and Dutilleul. The park has neat lawns, red brick walls, benches and a children's play area, and features statues of French war hero Marshal Foch and emblematic figure of the region P'tit Quinquin, a character from the famous nursery rhyme in the local dialect, Ch'ti.

Taxis are available from the airport. An hourly shuttle service runs from the airport to Lille Flandres and Lille Europe train stations. The Eurostar terminal (Lille Europe) is 1.5 kilometres from the Couvent des Minimes and can be reached by Metro the nearest station is Rihour (line 1), 700 metres from the hotel.
Driving directions: From the airport take the A1, Lille Sud exit. Continue on Rue du Faubourg de Douai, turn right onto Boulevard Victor Hugo, left onto Boulevard Jean Baptiste Lebas, left again onto Boulevard de la Liberté, right onto Rue de Tenremonde, left onto Square Dutilleul, which leads directly to Quai du Wault.
