A quick stay, but great front desk supervisor and Dennis at the door was so helpful finding me a cab to the airport. He was friendly and very good at his job!! I felt bad that i had no cash to tip him. Please know that I'll be back and plan to return to the Westin Grand Central. « less

Superior in every way - lay-out, facilities, equipment, cleanliness Is second to none. Staff, from bottom to top were very focused, extraordinarily professional and very friendly. Efficiency is something that comes naturally and pride on all aspects of their work underlines a superlative service. The rooms are large and luxurious, and every facility one might require was available. A delight and a privilege to have stayed here. Truly Outstanding. I cannot fault this hotel and look forward to returning. « less

A decent experience, and good for NYC, but well below what you might be used to staying at other Westin Hotels.
Small things lacking that made it feel like something you would find at a lesser chain. Plus considerably more busy and loud (even by NYC standards) in the common areas.
Very good location and decent price made an acceptable option but I would look elsewhere. « less

After a long day being awake for over 24 hours we arrived at The Westin. We were greeted with a smile and within minutes we got to our room. After walking to the nearest drugstore (2 minutes max) we took a nice hot shower and got in to one of the best beds I've ever slept in. We did get some street noise on the 14th floor but overall it was a great nights sleep. Check out was smooth.
Some things in our room didn't really feel as a four star hotel. Amenities could feel a bit more luxurious, some places in our room were dusty and some small things like a loose screw in the bathroom door.
So if you are looking for a perfect four star hotel you might find some flaws. But we really enjoyed our night. Great bed, great location, great shower, very dark spacious room and as a bonus a view of the Empire State Building.
I used Priceline to book my room with made it excellent value. « less

This place used to be much better when Leona Helmsley was around now it's just another place. They reno this place and looks much better but the service is lacking!!!! I remember staying here about 5 years ago and the service was great. They had one of the best doorman (Nick)in the city giving you the best info and providing exceptional service now you have a bunch of donkeys begging for a tips! The front desk has no personality and management is aloof . I needed a room for one of my clients and I choose this place for him to stay, what a mistake! I had asked the doorman for direction and a nice place to eat in the area and they had no clue. The front desk made me feel like they were doing me a favor for letting my client stay here and management couldn't understand that I wanted the bill, and when my guest checked in they still asked for a credit card after I provide mind for all charges. I'm still waiting for them to response to my complaints. Never again! They have a bar which is okay and room service was good. The only bright spot were the bellmen who picked up the slack and when above and beyond to help my guest! This place is for guest who are use to doing everything themselves because for the most part you have lack of service! I wish I can remember the young man who was the only one who provided exceptional service to both my client and myself . The only thing I can remember is that he is Asian. Management , you need help training your staff to meet 4-5 star service, I'm sure they aren't train or ever had any type of service training, this is all on managements and who ever is in charge should be fired!!! I would know, I worked with Leon and I'm sure she would turn over in her grave if she knew what happened to her hotel once westin took it over! « less
