Roel at Extended Stay deserves a shout-out for being professional and flexible. When my car broke down on my way from Spokane to Tacoma, I had to cancel my reservation. Roel was friendly and courteous regarding the cancellation. Turns out I cancelled too soon. To my surprise, my fiance came to the rescue by picking me up in Moses Lake to finish my trip, but she had to bring my kids and her dog along. I called Roel back and he was able to make sure we had a room, plus he was able to accomodate the unexpected dog and extra guests. I like the location of the hotel. It is close to Ft. Lewis (JBLM), and within walking distance of Buffaloe Wild Wings. The rooms are clean and fairly basic, although it is nice to have a microwaive and refrigerator available. The AC worked well and wasn't too loud. TV was a flatscreen, but didn't get much use on my trip. I gave it five stars, but this should be measured against other hotels with basic amenities. This place is not the Ritz, but the value is high and I would stay there again. « less

I've stayed at Extended Stay properties before and I thought they were a little mediocre, but I think they've really turned things around. The staff at this location were super friendly and extremely helpful. I was in town for a job interview and April helped me out when I forgot to print out my presentation notes for my interview. She even asked me how the interview went and really made me feel like Tacoma would be an excellent place to live. I've never stayed at a place that had such outstanding customer service.
The hotel is a little older, but they've done a really good job of making this place feel like more of a nice apartment than a hotel. The place was super clean and bright making my stay very comfortable. The free breakfast was an unexpected bonus and their coffee was pretty darn good for a hotel.
The only down side to the place is the sort of weird multi level parking lot which was a minor annoyance and the air conditioner in my room made an odd noise every now and then and neither was worth complaining about. Overall, this was a great stay especially for the price. If I'm back in the area again, I'd definitely stay here. « less
