Overall I have to give it 3 stars because nothing there was horrible. Depending on who you got at the front counter you either got average to good service. The 1st night we went there it was really late about Midnight and only guy working at the front desk kept us waiting for 15 min before he could talk to us because he looked busy with other stuff. He probably could have said Hi and that he will be with us in a few min. When I asked for a crib he said he has them but he can't give us one one because he does not hav a key to open the door where they are. Really, really stupid.
So if you are business traveler just know a few things. You will be paying for your own internet if you need to get online because there is no complimentary wi-fi anywhere in the hotel including the lobby. (Folks at Sheraton just understand that the days of charging for internet because it's a luxury are long gone. McDonalds has free wifi that should tell you something. Next time I will not be staying at you hotel because wifi is like clean sheets now. It's just expected -- My opinion but I guarantee a lot of others share this sentiment. Matter of fact I heard the guest in front of me decline to become part of your loyalty program because he said you don't have free internet.) They have a "Business Center" but it's a joke. Business center implies you can conduct business there. Their business center is their front lobby where they have put some computers. There is no privacy to conduct phone calls or even have a conversation. Again what they have is a front lobby and it's a stretch to call it a business center.
The hotel was generally very clean and the lobby looks excellent and what you would expect at a modern mid class hotel. The rooms are ok but starting to look a bit tired. Sheets changed and fresh and plenty of towels were provided.
They did have a breakfast available but for the money it was subpar so most days we did not eat there.
I would recommend this hotel if you can get it at a steep discount. If I had to pay full price for it I would be a bit disappointed.
Oh yeah and the 1st night they had a "security guard" who we thought was someone who was just loitering around at the hotel because he was sitting in a chair talking on his phone so loud that we had to call and find out who/why he was there. « less

Check-in: We had to wait an hour for our room, and we arrived after the 3pm check-in time. I've never had that problem at any of the Starwood properties where I've stayed. The front desk was very nice about it and comped us dinner, so not too much complaint there. Bryan at the front desk did a great job overall.
Room: Pretty nice overall, although the carpet is kind of dirty.
Common areas: Fairly decent, but some of the carpets look a little tired.
Club Lounge: No issues, we had the breakfast. LOVED the croissant breakfast sandwiches. Don't stop that!!
Staff: Competent and friendly
When you stay here, MAKE SURE you take your GPS and valuables out of your car. There have been multiple night smash and grabs in the parking lot from what someone was saying. There were 6 cars hit the night we stayed, fortunately we escaped because we always remove everything from the car.
Overall: Ok, but I've stayed at nicer Sheratons. « less

Stayed here for a week and found the hotel very warm and nice. Its almost on the Beltway and hence very comfortable to reach DC or Baltimore or the cities of Virginia. There is no complimentary breakfast or internet. All are charged extra. The fitness centre is compact and useful. The charged internet was pretty slow and choppy too. To make things worse, there was a fire drill to test the fire alarms which lasted for over 30 mins, making everyone rush out of the rooms and wait in the lobby !!! « less

I spent 3 nights at the sheraton last week. Location off hwy is great and parking is free. Check in was a breeze and then things went downhill. HVAC system was broken and we were told the maint staff leaves at 11pm so they could bring up a box fan and fix the A/C in the morning. The room itself was acceptable and included mini fridge and microwave. Don't plan on acessing the internet. As a SPG platinum member i recieved free access and still felt ripped off. My opinion is the hotel is overdue for a refresh and doesn't meet the standards for a sheraton. If you can get a great deal then it's worth the gamble. « less

I recently stayed at this Sheraton for work. The people and service was very friendly and overall great, but I had a big problem with the location of my room. The room was the closest one to the elevators and beginning at 5:30am you could easily hear every door slam, elevator chime, and people talking as they walked by. I've never experienced this at a hotel before- it was like the door was made of paper, it didn't keep any sounds out. There's nothing like having a day of meetings with bloodshot eyes from a lack of sleep. Also, there aren't many outlets in the room, which is strange. The bedside lamp cord was stretched as far as it could go to reach an adjacent wall outlet. Overall, I may stay here again- the room and bed were decent, but will ask to be put as far away from the elevators and thru traffic of the hallway. « less
