I stayed here for 3 night with my family. I have to say I liked the hotel and especially the staff. The rooms are modern looking, the usual good Courtyard standard. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi that you can use. The pool was appreciated by our 3 years old daughter very much. We were on a road trip and this was our choice for stopping near Washington D.C. I have to say there are not so many things around except for the Greenbelt Park. We ended up doing a barbecue in the park and there were deers coming very close to us, it was amazing to see them. If you have business around definitely go there, but if you plan to go to Washington D.C., chose a hotel in the town. « less

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, on a business trip. I stay in hotels often and this, by far, has me impressed. I am in sales, which strives on simply superior customer service. I judge ALL transactions in comparison what I expect of myself and my staff. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted kindly. EVERY staff member I came in counter with gave me eye contact and when I was within a certain distance, smiled and spoke. The girls and guys at the front desk were amazing with knowledge of the surrounding area to help me find a place to eat - up to the channel for ESPN to watch the NFL Draft and even attempted to help me change the channel in the Cafe. I watched an employee see a piece of paper on the floor and pick it up as she walked by - this practice of "if you see it needs done, do it" has seemed to go extinct, but not during my experience. I sat at the Cafe and watched the front desk for 30 minutes deal with each other and customers. The professionalism they possessed was remarkable. If my line of work was in this area, I would have tried to recruit some of their employees. The hotel and my room was impeccably clean and modern. The bed linens still smelled like bleach, so you knew they were washed properly. The bed was so comfortable (better than my own). I look for things wrong in a situation; that's my job. The only issue I saw was when I was taking a shower and looked up and a piece of paint was peeling from the ceiling. Big deal - I'm sure they will see this and get it fixed. It is also expensive to eat in the Cafe; however, there food was very good. I'm writing this review, because my business also has reviews and I know people are more likely to complain when they are unhappy, than praise when they are pleased. I would pay the money to stay in a fine hotel like this, because I got more than I expected. « less

I guess I should start with the positive...the staff. The staff at this hotel is absolutely wonderful and this is the reason I gave them a second chance.... I stayed here first week of March for 3 nights. Upon entering my room I found a refrigerator full of old half eaten food. It was gross. I called to the front desk, the gentleman was very apologetic and came right up to clean it out. I would have preferred the fridge be wiped out out after removing the old food, but at least they did remove the food. They also gave me a bottle of water and offered me a ten dollar coupon for the Bistro, I did not accept it, I felt like it was one mistake, no biggie. My coworker checked into the same hotel and her refrigerator didn't work at all, so they brought her another one. They then left the broken refrigerator in the hall way the entire day and everyone had to keep walking around it. It looked really bad. Breakfast we got the following day was pretty good and once again the man at the Bistro was excellent. Other than breakfast, the food is TERRIBLE! I'm staying here this week for 5 days. I ordered the French dip to be told after it was cooked that they were out if the aujous. The beef was gray, the cheese totally melted off the sandwich - by the way- all food is either microwaved or put in a toaster oven. I also got soup which was fair, but the cheese toast with the soup was the biggest laugh yet...it is a slice of white sandwich bread with melted cheese and green onions cut into three fancy slices. Horrible! Now for the rooms... They are very nice and comfortable. The beds are wonderful and the rooms are clean except for the refrigerator incident. But- even though they use premium bath products you won't get any lotion unless you go down to the desk and ask for. No water either- not even to purchase. I asked about these features and the reply was " we don't do that at the Courtyard". Well I have news for them...the Courtyard in Silver Springs MD puts lotion in your room and gives you water. The Courtyard Greenbelt is not a three star hotel at best it is a two star. If you want a three star and get what is come to expect with that level stay at the Hilton Garden Inn (my preferred place to stay) or the Silver Springs Courtyard. « less

The rooms are good enough, and there is free wifi that works very well. They also provide a free shuttle service to local points of interest which was very helpful to me and is the main reason I'm not goig to rate them below average.
However, their so-called bistro sucks. I got breakfast there the first day, and they dried out the canadian bacon. I had no intention of eating there again, but we got snowed in so options were limited. I attempted to eat breakfast at 9:30AM -- closed! (????) I tried to find real food in their fridge, none, it had been wiped out. Attempted to finally eat at 12:30, they kept telling me to wait even though there was no line, so I did. I finally made an order to an obviously new girl who had to look at a picture on the counter to understand the menu item. She walked in the back and I never saw her again (nor any food). I'm very hungry now, so walked across to the other Marriot (?!?) who had a stocked fridge and microwaved some food.
I lodged a complaint afterwards to the Bistro at 1PM. he said, "sorry we're closed now." Wow. Is this place for real?
Incidentally, there are only two other options: the horrible TGIF down the street, and the Holiday Inn close by (where I finally got a real meal for dinner). Better be prepared to bring a sandwich or eat elsewhere, and hope there isn't a snowstorm so you get stuck. They don't even give free coffee here.
I expect a manager to reply on this like he has on others. Please spare me your reply and do something about your stupid bistro, and don't ever starve your clients again. « less
