Our semi-private lounge La Soffitta provides an intimate setting to host life's many celebrations. From the Bolognese to the Pannacotta, our Chef provides a taste of Tuscany to Lower Manhattan. We are located a short walk to the great landmarks of New York such as the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, the Freedom Towers, and the Statue of Liberty. Rooftop Deck - 3,200 square foot space with room for 125 guests | Conference room seating 18 guestsOriginally used as the main banking hall for Lee, Higginson & Co., a nowextinctinvestment bank, our 5,700 msquare foot space, designed by Cross & Cross, is complete with thirty-foot bronze-capped grand pillars, guilded detailsand intricate mosaics. The beauty of the ballroom is wrapped in a two hundred-twenty foot mural entitled “A Pageantry of the History of Commerce by Sea” by Griffith Baily Coale,a World War II Navy combat artist. Beginning with ancientgalleys, the mural depicts caravels and clippers to the latest(as of 1929) ocean liners, ending with the skyline of Lower Manhattan. Above float even more modern means of transportation of the times: a biplane and two dirigibles.
