I stayed for two nights recently at this hotel for a visit to the Elkins area. The hotel was located on a hill above some of the shopping centers outside of town. The view of the mountains from the rooms in the front of the hotel were great. Everything at the hotel was extremely clean and the rooms kept up extremely well. They make use of the space in the room efficiently and there is a good desk to work at. The bathroom did have a shower stall, not a tub, like someone else mentioned. The only thing that I did not like was that the fan in the bathroom came on when you turned the light on. I always prefer them separate.
The hotel had wi-fi and wired internet access. The wi-fi was one of the strongest I've seen for a while at a hotel and never seemed bogged down.
The hotel had an inside pool and exercise room, both of which looked very nice, but I did not use either. They served a breakfast every morning that included some hot items, cold cereals, yogurt, muffins and also had a waffle maker. Everything was kept clean and stocked and the seating area had a lot of room also, unlike many of the hotels.
There is shopping and restaurants very close and it is only a few minutes from downtown Elkins for the trains there and other activities.
The staff was always friendly and helpful if you had any questions. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you need a place in the Elkins WV area. « less

My wife of 34 years and I were touring the region on a motorcycle and for her sake, I chose to spend the extra few dollars to stay at the Hampton based on the great reviews I read on TripAdvisor website. The Hotel definitely lived up to its great reviews. Our room and all the facilities were exceptionally clean, bed was very comfortable for restoring my wife's road weary body, she appreciated the very nice linens, towels, and bathroom, and was very pleased that the Duvet was washed before each new guest. We both thought the contintnetal breakfast was very nice and added much to the overall value. The Hotel also has a really nice view. « less

I have stayed at other Hampton Hotels, but this one was the best so far! I expected a nice hotel, good service, and clean room, but the Elkins Hampton went above and beyond. The staff was very pleasant, helpful, and courteous throughout. (smiling all the time) The hotel was very nice and rooms extra clean. The bedding, towels, and amenities were incredibly fresh and clean. « less

This Hampton Inn is very nice. Wish my house was that clean! Every morning they were moping floors, polishing glass and all surfaces. Nice! But the bed just made you want to stretch out and wiggle all over it to suck up the clean sheets and comfiness of it all. Very relaxing! I also LOVED the indoor HOT TUB and heated pool. Turned a hotel into a mini spa vacation. I also took full advantage of the micro and fridge. Made sandwiches for the ski hill. Really had a great time. « less
