Tried this hotel solely on the reviews I read on tripadvisor and I was not disappointed! The exterior from the street does not do this hotel justice, and the students who work here are SO helpful, (Amanda was full of smiles!). Room was clean, comfortable, quiet and provided a good night's rest. At 8:45 p.m. we witnessed a senior staff member rounding up kids, (6 or so, 8-11 years old), who were attending a function at the hotel but decided to roam the hotel instead, (where are these parents?!). Politely, but firmly, she herded them back into the room they were supposed to be in. Having traveled with my daughter for sporting events in the past, this really impressed me! I would stay again in a heartbeat, and would highly recommend this property to others. « less

The hotel was the base for judges for a local homebrew competition. We were only there for a diner and overnight, but the staff, as young as they are, were wonderful. The room was lovely with a separate sleeping area and a whirlpool tub. Very clean with lots of amenities. We had great shuttle service to Johnson and Wales culinary campus for the competition. The culinary school also did our meals, 2 lunches, a breakfast and a diner. The diner was a little underwhelming (NO desert), but the other meals were great. We did not have time to check out the spa/gym area but they have one. « less

Stayed here for 2 nights while in the area. We arrived at 10pm on a Friday night and the check-in desk lady was very friendly and helpful. I asked about an upgraded room since I have Gold status with Club Carlson and she said we had already been upgraded to a suite. The room was nicely appointment with a separate sitting area with a couch and desk. The bedroom has a sliding glass door as a separator. The room also had a microwave and fridge which were both nice. They included 2 bottles of water for free each day along with the standard free coffee. The jetted tub was nice and we used that our first night.
Only 2 minor issues. 2 of the 4 lights were out over the bathroom sink. I would think that the housekeeping staff would notice that the first day and replace them. We didn't mention anything because it wasn't a big deal to us. The second is the sleepnumber king bed. Maybe neither of us are used to it but neither of us enjoyed it. Its basically feels like you're sleeping on an air mattress that we could adjust each sides firmness. And it leaves a "gap" between the two sides so there's almost like a divot in the middle of the bed, hard to explain. I guess next time we'll request a "regular" bed!

Turns out that this is teaching hotel. There were four people waiting to help us check in, which was much more efficient than you'd think. The room was clean and updated, not your typical Raddisson, meaning old and icky (in my experience at least). The meeting room was overrun by staff making sure our water was filled, some even poured! The food (for 50) was brought out by 5 or 7 extremely competent banquet staff. The food was first class, really. There were three vegs, two proteins that didn't look as if they were boiled to death. Good flavor all around. If you're looking to hold a meeting in RI I suggest you take a peek at this one. The bar downstairs has a nice wine list and specialty drinks. I was the speaker the following day so I abstained, sigh. The water came in stemware with lemon the pours were adequate. The coffee maker stunk. Bring your own pods to brew (not k-cups) they served Starbucks but not the Starbucks I was used to. Not sure what that was about. The bed was comfy, the desk chair was comfy. Not a fan of the sink in a separate room from the throne, small ding on that one. « less
