Stayed here in april 2013 for a business meeting on-site. Boy do I regret that decision. The room was discounted for our group at $120/night, a bit pricy but at least the room was nice. The fitness center was great, and breakfast was good too (and free), and that's about it for the pros.
Wifi access was $10 a day. That was frustrating. To get work done I kept having to drag my laptop and charger down to the lobby to use the free wifi there. Also had to pay for self parking, and getting a ticket to park took about 15 minutes because the valet guy(who hands out the tickets) was nowhere to be found. There was also no one to be found when I tried to check in (it took about 30 minutes from the time I arrived until I was finally in my room). Our meeting room was big for the size of our group, but we had a lot of problems with it. The temperature could not be regulated at all. We tried about 5 times over 2 days to have the issue addressed, to no avail. It started off freezing cold in the morning, and by 10AM it was sweltering hot and really humid, like the pool area. Different staff members also interrupted the meeting about a dozen times as they came in to set up drinks or do other things, each time letting the door slam shut loudly behind them. This did not help when we were trying to listen to audio on the presenter's cell phone (because the main phone for the room didn't work), we couldn't hear anything. I tried out the on-site bar one evening to get a drink, but left after waiting for 15 minutes and there was nobody behind the bar or in the room working (keep in mind the bar was full of people and it was 9PM).
The worst part for me was also a first time experience. I left the room for dinner with our group at an offsite restaurant our last night, and we were gone for about 2 hours. I made sure the door was closed before leaving, as I always do (especially in Atlanta). When I returned around 8, I got to my room and the door was wide open. It looked like it had been kicked, because the door had actually broken the floor-mounted door stop and was against the wall. However, the door frame, jam, and locks were all in-tact and untouched. The door had just been sitting there, wide open for god knows how long, with all of my belongings on the coffee table (luggage, laptops, ipad, checkbook, etc) in plain view for anyone to see as they walked by. This wasn't tucked down in a hallway corridor or far corner of the hotel either, it was on the 2nd floor directly on the walkway in full view of anyone standing in the gigantic atrium. Surely, an employee had walked by my room at least once and noticed my door wide open with all of my stuff out and nobody in the room - you think that would raise a few questions, or at least prompt them to close the door. I checked to make sure nobody was in the room, and checked that nothing was missing (to my knowledge, nothing was taken). I immediately called down to the front desk, but the phone rang unanswered for about 10 minutes. I hung up and called again, and again the phone rang about 100 times. I then called from my cell phone, and the front desk attendant picked up right away, and asked to put me on hold (why the hell they would answer a call from an outside line before they would pick up for a guest's room is beyond me). I yelled no and explained what the situation, and asked if perhaps maintenance or housekeeping had come by while I was gone and maybe forgot to close the door. The guy said, "No, nobodys been by, can I help you with anything else?" Yea, how about we figure out why the hell someone opened my door and possibly came in my room while I was gone, and how they hell they got in! He said he could send security up if I wanted, and I said sure (but they never came). I just packed all my stuff up and locked it in my car and checked out first thing in the morning. I couldn't believe that this wasn't a concern for them. I'll never stay here again. « less

Décor was beyond my taste for older, tile was filthy in bathroom, small Embassy at that. The Managers reception was "OK" but the bartenders/help needs just that HELP. Other Embassy in the area make a mockery of this dark, gothic type bar. The lady was holding the line back due to her making a 82 yr old gentlemen take his ID out of his wallet...And he was from the state of GA and once he received his whiskey sour? It was yellow...Need I say more?..The pool made me feel like I was in a Miami vice episode from the 80's...This WILL be our first and last stay at this location in ATL. Please, no need to patronize me with a manager response « less

We booked this hotel as we were arriving in the evning from the UK and wanted somewhere near to both the airport and the car rental centre. The layout of the hotel is interesting with most of the rooms overlooking a central area. The room we had was large by UK standards and had a separate seating area and a small kitchen. The walls appeared somewhat thin and sound does travel from room to room. The whole place was very clean with the staff friendly and helpful. The next morning the airport shuttle took us to the train station at the airport where we went one stop (free) to the car rental centre. Very, very convenient. « less

The hotel is average and what one would expect at an airport. The hot breakfast is a plus over some of the hotels that only provide a cold one. However, that is offset by the fact you have to pay for wifi. The rooms are big suites and I wondered why I needed so much space for one night? However, the convenience of the hotel to ATL and the friendliness of the van drivers make this a place I would stay again if I was staying near ATL. « less
