Ugh I booked this unknown with how crappy of an experience it was going to be. I needed a stay for about a week as I work as a contractor and wanted time to check out housing arrangements for my short stay of work. While the interior of the room was nicely decorated the cleanliness left alot to be desired. The first night in my room I noted the sheets were stained and dirty along with nasty pillowcases. I pulled all the bedding off the bed and threw it on the floor. Needless to say I went out to my car and got my own blanket and slept on the couch. This room came with a sleeper sofa but once I pulled it out realized it twas also dirty and stained. Gross.I complained to management the next morning. The floors were constantly dirty like they had been mopped in like forever. Why be cheap and have laminate wood flooring instead of carpet? Probably because they would never find the time to vaccuum it. My feet stayed dirty after taking a shower. The hallways of this hotel reeked of smoke all the time with even more questionable people staying at this hotel. The breakfast area was non existent by 8:00 a.m after all the other guests which I was assume were contractors inhale everything and only leave crumbs behind. Breakfast area never replenished for other guests to enjoy despite the stated times that breakfast was provided. Ugh. Would never stay here again. I had a much better experience at the holiday inn express at Mexia. « less

It was a great stay! have been there before and will go again. Would like to have room alittle closer to outside door, but I'm sure we didn't ask.

I was very disappointed by my stay at your establishment. My company arranged for me to stay here, while we were,in the process of reopening a recently purchased pharmacy,in Groesbeck. The room was not very clean. There was so much dust under the glass on the tables, that the tabletops looked gray.. The commode, had a large, questionable, stain, behind the seat. The bathtub, had several discoloration marks, along with, poorly repaired, patches, both inside and outside the bathtub. There was a huge, dark red colored stain,on the window shade, that resembled blood! I began to wonder,if this room, had been involved in a crime! The threshold, between the room, and the bathroom, came completely up,and I nearly tripped and fell! I went down to the front desk, and requested cleaning supplies,to clean the bathtub and commode, myself. The shower only stayed hot,for 4-5 minutes,no matter what time of day or night, that I attempted to get a hot shower. I contacted the front desk, to complain, and was told,"Yeah, I think the hot water heater is broken. I'll leave a note for the maintenance man". The pillows on my bed, were soiled with yellow stains, and the stuffing was coming out of all five pillows! I had to roll up towels and put them in the pillowcases,to sleep on! I asked the desk clerk for new pillows, and was told there were no extra pillows available. I also asked for clean washcloths, and was told that none were available. The desk clerks were absent from the desk, for long periods,of time, sometimes,up to 45 minutes, As a result of this, anyone could have come into the hotel, and had access to any room! The back door, was continually "propped open" with a rock,I assume,by other guests, because it would not open with key access. Once again, allowing access to anyone, who decided to wander into the hotel! And last, but not least, I was awaken 4 out of 6 days, before 530 AM,by the fire alarm!!!! I have stayed at other Days Inns, and this is by far, the worse experience,I have every had. « less

Arrived at this "hotel" on 4/1/2013 at approximately 11:30PM. My wife and I had traveled to Groesbeck for a doctors appointment the following morning at 8:30AM. We are both legally disabled and my wife was suffering from a broken ankle and on crutches. We were first given a "handicap accessible" room, which had a dirty, moldy and damaged shower seat (rendering it useless) and no tub. We returned to the front desk and the manager, Ann Black, offered to give us a different room. When we arrived at the 2nd room we unpacked and when my wife went into the bathroom she realized there was NO TOILET SEAT AT ALL!!! Just the dirty remnants of where one used to sit! At this point it was well after midnight and I once again called the manager, Ann Black. I told her there was no toilet seat in our room, and explained that we cannot physically change rooms AGAIN because of our physical limitations. I asked for a new toilet seat and for a "discount" off the measly $79.99 daily rate because of the problems. Ann Black checked her computer and admitted that our room was "out of service". At this point she became rude, unprofessional, and told me that if I didn't want to pay the full rate then I could get out of "her" hotel (she is not the owner) I asked for the number to Days Inn Corporate so I could call and explain to the situation to them. At this point, Ann Black, told me to get out of "her" hotel because she was calling the police on me and my wife. Needless to say, I packed our things while my wife waited downstairs in the car because I am not going to pay to stay in an "out-of-service" hotel room with an angry woman screaming profanities at me and my wife. If you are traveling with children or elderly/disabled person(s) I would strongly urge you to stay away from this hotel because the management has proven to be sub-par. « less
smoking rooms are sold as non-smoking. Terrible front desk. Some friends who had confirmed reservations did not have rooms, over booked and no alternative arrangements were made. NOT AGAIN !!
