I'm a consultant that spends a lot of time in hotels. I prefer Residence Inns, but there's not one in this area, so I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express. It's OK, with a good, clean room, breakfast, refrigerator in the room, etc. There's a pool and hot tub, and "excersize room." The ho-hum parts... two or three times a week, there's scrambled eggs and bisquits with something like Elmer's glue with some unidentified black spots that, I think, are supposed to be sausage. The "hot tub" is actually a warm tub. The "exercise room" has a tread mill and bicycle. One thing that really bugs me... I bring an apetizer or desert to the desk clerk from dinner where I stay to help them know me and make my stay a little more comfortable (I stay for 4-6 weeks). They were appreciative, but then, I learn they had been told they couldn't accept "gifts" from customers. I don't know the reasoning, but I am offended. The employees in this hotel were friendly and do their job well, but I suspect they don't make a lot and don't get much appreciation. To bar them from small tokens of appreciation is wrong. I wish I was in a Residence Inn. « less

The rooms have many of the new furniture and lighting features of some of the newer properties like nice adjustable LED reading lights on the bed. I even liked the old black and white photograph art in the rooms; and let's face it hotel art can be pretty horrific.
The bed was comfortable, the furniture decent. Room cleaning was up to par.
The down side is that the Internet service is very slow. Expect to be able to slowly check your email or surf the web. But certainly don't expect to stream videos or use services like Netflix. « less
