We stayed at this hotel in April 2013. We had enjoyed our stay until the last day when we decided to have a pool day. Our companions were staying in the next room to ours. I was the last person to leave my room and as I was leaving, I noticed that the maid was in our friends room cleaning it. After an hour at the pool I needed to go up to our room to make a phone call to arrange our transportation to the airport for the next day as we were due to be flying home. This is when I noticed my bracelet had been stolen out of my little travel jewelry box. I distinctly remember placing it in there the night before because I had been wearing it that day. I searched our room before calling reception and it was not there. A security man arrived and I filled out a form. He said that someone would investigate what happened and that I would get a phone call in England. I am still waiting for that phone call. I am typing this on May 21st 2013. I wasn't happy with this outcome after seeing security and complained to a manager on reception. I found her to be insolent, patronizing and most unhelpful. She asked me why didn't I put the bracelet in the safe? I told her the bracelet was only worth $50. and was of more sentimental value. Anyway, we explained to her that my husbands shoes were worth far more money than my bracelet and should we have put everything in the safe?! You can't fit everything in there! We had bought souvenirs too and gifts, and did some shopping but we can't lock it all in a safe. My point is that nobody should be allowed to steal ANYTHING of mine from my room. They have no right to do so. It is a crime and the victim should not be made to feel that they are to blame by a bad manager. I told her that there was a sign in the bathroom that read: If you are not satisfied, you don't pay for "that part of your stay". I quoted this to that manager and she just looked at me blankly. Well, that guarantee is rubbish, isn't it?! « less

Fabulous stay, staff was friendly and nice, food at restaurant was good.. room was clean and well kept. good night sleep... quiet at night/early morning. pool and outdoor activities were like staying at a resort! they even had a tiki bar near the pool!! the location was awesome..5 mins to downtown disney and 10 to the parks!!! We stayed (my husband and I) this past weekend. We checked in on Friday and out on Monday. I have to say, this hotel is very very nice. We are annual pass holders at WDW, and live in PA. Some of our trips we really cant afford to always stay on property, so we used Hotwire, in the Downtown Disney Area and got this hotel.
Here is my review:
Check-in....pleasant and informative. Room...clean, new and comfortable - very clean! Microwave and mini-fridge, wet bar... Public spaces - hallways clean, gift shop was convenient, the pool area looked beautiful, parking was plentiful and convenient. Business center was great for printing boarding passes. Food and beverage - the Applebee's on-site was actually pretty nice, we had dinner from there one night and had breakfast one morning too (pretty good buffet). Tiki bar too! Location, Location! - We had a rental car - and the location was very close to downtown Disney, just a few short miles away (we could actually see the characters in flight balloon and spaceship earth from our room - off in the distance of course). It only took us no longer than 15 minutes from hotel parking lot to theme park lot......no confusing traffic patterns or anything..
I have to give the staff and management a "job well done"...this is a very nicely run hotel, we will be back. This is going to be our home away from home when not staying on Disney Property. « less

We (family of 7) stayed here many times because it was cheap. Yes it was a little run-down, but small kids, and starting parents are willing to overlook things to save money. THEN THE REMODEL OCCURRED. This place is beautiful. Marble floors and granite in our 2-Queen bed room. The room was spacious, (you probably could have put a third queen bed in there). Carpet was nice. Beds were very comfortable. Linens were exceptional. Pillows were Fantastic. The entries for the rooms is now inside a hall instead of being exposed to the elements, a definite upgrade. The lobby was gorgeous and updated. I can't say enough good things to express...WE'RE BACK !!!! « less

We stayed here 9-14th May 2013..... we had a really good experience. There was a couple of things that did not impress me and I believe I was misled.... the shuttles to the different Disney parks only go back and forth ONCE. Not multiple times..... so we caught the shuttle in the morning and took a taxi back when we wanted to. My daughter is 6, so she didn't have the stamina to stay as long as the shuttle was to come pick us up.
The restaurant, Applebee's, was really good as well, however there was a hiccup there as well, with the "Kids under 12 eat free". There were only a few choices on the childrens menu, so my daughter got fed up with the menu pretty early.....
That being said, it was great value for dollar, clean, friendly staff, pool was wonderful, rooms were clean, and cleaned promptly..... I would definately stay again, but maybe rent a car this time, so we wouldn't have to take so many taxis....
We stayed at the back of the hotel, facing the parking lot, and it was very quiet..... we didn't hear anything. The hotel seemed to be updated in the last few years, so it was really good, so I was happy.

The staff is very proud of it and very glad that you noticed, best of all is that it made such an impact on your stay with us! Please allow me to apologize if somehow you were given incorrect information about the shuttle schedule, although it does have several times it leaves it is not a continuous system. We do have the schedule posted on the hotel's website to help in planning and always have someone available at the Front Desk to assist with any additional questions. Orlando can get very busy in the tourist areas and with limited public transportation a rental car is always a great value while staying. The hotel does have a Dollar rent a car desk in it's lobby for your convenience. The Kids Eat Free Menu your daughter ate from is a limited menu and is a standard menu for all Holiday Inn's not just the Applebee's. We try to have the kid's menu feature what are considered the "favorites" of children under 12. We will make a suggestion that it might be expanded for the next printing on your behalf as kids are getting used to allot more variety now days!
