Great restaurants , helpful staff We booked a room here on a busy weekend because we were attending a sporting event at the nearby Community College. The Nassau Coliseum was hosting a playoff hockey game across the parking lot from the hotel and there were a couple wedding parties there but everything ran smoothly . The management and staff were very accommodating . We received a group rate at a substantial discount even after we had booked the standard rate and we were allowed to check in early. The housekeeper cheerfully handled a couple of special requests for us as well. The room was updated and the mattress and bedding were first rate. There is a sports type bar / restaurant as well as a more formal restaurant on the property. The pool was good sized with a dedicated lap lane and a hot tub and fitness center. This facility was well maintained but somewhat dated. The food and drinks were good but expensive . There was a coffee maker in the room but no fridge or minibar. There was a $12 / day charge to connect to the wi-fi which seems to be free almost anywhere you go these days. The television was a modern flat screen with a good number of HD channels and the shower had good water pressure. The hotel was a $15 cab ride from the Westbury train station and they had a car rental agency-on site but no hotel shuttle service. To summarize the Marriott is a clean comfortable full service hotel and a good place to stay if you don't mind a la cart pricing or are on an expense account .

We were going to a wedding in Eisenhower Park and the closest hotel was the Marriott. We always stay in Marriotts anyway, as everything is always very well-done in that chain, so I thought we had just lucked out by that one being chosen. What a disappointment! The room was so tiny that when I asked the bellman to get me some ice and he tried to enter the room with it while I was hanging clothes in the closet, he couldn't come in! The bathroom had only shampoo, conditioner and hand-cream for amenities, no shower cap, no Q-tips, no cotton balls. It was such a small bathroom that my husband could not shave while I was putting on makeup, even though the mirror spanned the wall it was on.
I realized when we went to the lobby that evening to leave for the wedding that the Marriott has a captive audience of mostly blue-collar hockey fans, who jammed the lobby with their beer bottles, and probably thought of this hotel as "deluxe".
The bridal breakfast for the wedding guests the next morning was scheduled for 9:30-11:30 a.m. When we arrived at 10 a.m., everything was cold, from the coffee (which tasted like it was left over from the wedding) to the scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage (the only choices besides muffins and wedding cake). I asked for and got a hot pot of freshly brewed coffee, thank goodness. I will say the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. « less

Stayed four nights. Great location if attending an event at Nassau Coliseum – as I was. Overall the facilities are tired and less than you'd expect for a Marriot hotel.
My room was quite large but had no fridge. This omission was aggravated by a very limited supply of goods in the Lobby shop. Tea/coffee was available in the Lobby for a limited time but closed by ~10.30. That seemed odd given the number of people sitting around in small gatherings/meetings. You could get a coffee from the Champions Bar.
Breakfast selection was excellent and staff very helpful. Internet expensive.
If you arrive without your own transport, then the location is a bit isolated – unless you take a taxi everywhere ($10 to local Mall).
So all up: location super if attending Nassau Coliseum - just don't expect the quality of a 'normal' Marriot. « less

Going by Marriott standards, this is below par on service. The rest of the hotel is nothing special, nothing extra ordinary - but the usual calm efficiency and courtesy that you associate with Marriott, was missing here when it came to service. One had to call and wait for long for some one to pick up the phone - be it front desk or concierge. I have stayed at many of their properties across the World, but it was unusual to find such slow response and some times no response!! The personal interactions were pleasant and quick - but over the phone .... very slow response. Another unusual and slightly annoying aspect was the noise made by the youngsters in the corridors in living room area. All told, this property is way below the standards I have seen in Marriott Chain elsewhere. « less

This is a nice hotel but a busy one. Lots going on in the lobby - events, bar, etc., which means you are more likely to have drunks going to their rooms late in the evening. A lot of people in the parking lot, a lot of people in the hallways, smokers outside the bar on the way into the hotel. That kind of thing.
I had no problem with the employees, as did some reviewers. One complaint - the TV was far too small for the size of the room and the quality of the hotel. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Kudos to Jackie, and many thanks to your service. I never would have known about that particular hotel, and even if I eventually did find it, it would have taken me days to accomplish what I did in 15 minutes with you. Now our entire group can look forward to a care-free stay at the perfect rate at the perfect location. I've never been this organized this far in advance of an event, so thanks for making me look good!" K.S. - Vancouver, WA
"This is an awesome concept. I would not have gotten started without this service. Because my mom is recovering from a illness, this service has helped take the stress out of searching for a hotel at this late stage of our planning." L.P. - Bloomington, MN
