I booked 3 rooms for 1 night at this hotel for my business partners from out of the country. When we checked in we expected large 2 queen bed rooms as photos on their website but what we got was very small, yes, about 150-200 square foot rooms with bathrooms as small as, well, you can barely turn around with no bath tub. Is it a Hyatt? I asked the front desk about that and he was very unfriendly and telling me that it's a standard king room with 450sq foot. Something got be wrong! and the coffee machine was small and bad. My guests were very disappointed since they've had very good Hyatt experience before..I was so embarrassed by what we can provide them in America. What makes it worse, there is a Anime conference here and the noise made my guests not able to go to sleep. They don't speak English so asked me to ask help desk if we can switch to other bigger quieter rooms. Frontdesk guy was very rude and he said that there's no other rooms available, you got what you got! I was so angry that I just can fall asleep until now, well 1:23 am in the morning! This is so so bad experience, and I've got my business partners from Asia came all the way to visit me just to tell me that they don't like it!!!!! By the way, at the frontdesk I asked them to book me as high floor as possible and she said there's only 11 stories. It turns out that there are more than 11 stories in this hotel and there are 2100 rooms altogether. I highly doubt that they don't have other rooms. Lies , lies. Bad service bad service. I'll never ever book a Hyatt! I hate Hyatt!!! « less

The rooms with king size beds are very spacious, and with a nice seating area. I was first placed in a room with king sized bed as requested. However, it was very loud as it was right next to the elevator, which made it difficult to sleep. This room had a decent view of the Chicago river. The decor is modern and updated, and beds are very comfortable. I couldn't sleep very well because of the elevator noise, and asked to be moved. The next room had 2 queen beds; it was quieter but the queen room is not as nice as the king room. (The view wasn't as good, and there wasn't as much room for the sitting area).
The front desk team was friendly, but didn't seem to know how to explain where to go for the conference the next day.
The hotel has a helpful shop downstairs with lots of breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and other good food items.
The workout room was OK; it was not in a desirable location- a person had to go through the lobby, down escalators, and out in a common area (next to a dry cleaner) to get to it. This made it seem not as nice and not as safe.
Decent hotel to stay at while attending a convention in the downstairs area of the hotel. « less

Was here for a conference. Hadn't stayed here in several years and was pleasantly surprised by the renovations. The rooms are a decent size, nicely appointed and comfortable. Room service was good -- nothing stellar, but definitely decent. Service was excellent. Rooms were cleaned in a timely fashion and absolutely no complaints on the quality of the cleaning. All-in-all, a solid experience among the many hotels you could choose from in Chicago. « less

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago during a conference at the same facility. The location is good and the service was OK. The room was reasonably up to date and quite clean...even the corners. Sadly, my experience was affected by diryty sheets in the second bed. I was really disappointed in that. I reported it that evening...and again the next morning just to be certain management was aware. They offered to do nothing for me. (I had no expectations, but wouldn't it have been nice for them to have offered a drink coupon or something? The desk staff were fine...room service was better than average (but forgettable). The conference facilities really need to be updated (in the West Tower. Catering was just OK. The cake was dry as were the wraps. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so eat outside the hotel whenever you can.
Beside the be rpblem...the only issue with the room was temperature control. They totally mess with thermostat in the room during the night...because each of the three nights I stayed I woke up sweating.
