Old hotel that looks dated, rooms although clean lack maintenance with chipped bath tub, dirty carpets as some examples.
At the end of the day it's mainly used as a base to explore so serves its purpose « less

I picked this hotel for a mid winter getaway from the perpetual blizzard back home. Upon arrival the staff goes to great lengths to make you feel welcome. The hotel isn't a new hotel, but it's kept very current and decorated stylishly and beautiful. It's located in the Hollywood Hills within walking distance to Universal Studios. I walked to Universal's City Walk for dining and to take in a movie several times on this trip. The room was spacious and extremely well laid out. Floor to ceiling windows allow for sweeping views of the Hollywood hills. The bed was very comfortable with great bedding and pillows and I slept great every night. I chose self parking and there is a parking building directly next to the hotel. It's very well lit and easy to access from the lobby. The hotel offers many amenities, including complimentary computer terminals for hotel guests just off the lobby. There is a very nice restaurant and bar in the hotel offering great menu choices. I look forward to returning to this particular hotel again. « less

Front desk staff were excellent to deal with. Fast check in and very professional. Was advised that the pool was not heated at this time and that the hot tub was not functioning and under repair. These things happen and I wont fault them as they had a back up plan where we could use the facilities of the Hilton (just a 2 min walk away).
The room was average but clean. A tip for people is to park at the hotel, jump on the free shuttle to Universal and check in later. Parking was 18/day. Lots of great restaurants in the area if you have a car as the hotel is up the hill by Universal. « less

This place is right next door to Universal Studios, so it was perfect for our needs as this was one of our destinations. The hotel was clean and smelt wonderful every time we entered the lobby. The staff were extremely helpful with anything we needed. Their pool area was still undergoing renovations but the Hilton right next door was providing pool services at no charge. The only down sides were having to pay to park, I hate it! These places are already getting your money for overpriced items in the restaurants and gift shops, then they tack on another $20 a day to stay if you have a car. « less
