My family stayed at this hotel for the first time over the weekend while visiting Defiance for a family gathering. The lady at reception was very nice and efficient. I had read other reviews regarding the breakfast, and we were not disappointed. We were looking for low-carb options and found them, which can be difficult with complimentary breakfasts. The eggs and sausage were quite good. I also appreciated that, at the coffee station, there were other options including tea, as well as cocoa for my daughter (which she loved)!
Another reason we stayed here was for the indoor pool. There were numerous obnoxious unsupervised teenagers who were getting out of control. One stop to the front desk to ask for assistance and the situation was immediately remedied with apologies. With the teens no longer at the pool, my family and another enjoyed the facility very much.
It was also great to have a decent-sized refrigerator and a microwave available (although it would have been nice to have a couple microwave-safe dishes offered to reheat our leftovers from the nearby restaurant as all we had were the foam containers).
The room was clean and did not have the smell some reviews referred to. The entire hotel was kept clean and neat. « less

I've been traveling on business for many years now. This has to be one of less than 10 establishments that charge for a business fax and page copies. The room is old and musty smelling; bring your own Febreeze. Would rather have been lodged at the Holiday Inn or Hampton, just across the street. « less

Room appears clean. Smell is HORRIBLE. Price too high for accomodatiion level. Front desk person is professional and helpful. NOT real impressed. This is the most I've paid for a room all week and for the area and the accomodations this is the worst deal. The owner apparently owns ALL of the hotels here so he has a monopoly on the town. There is nothing in or near Defiance, Ohio such as attractions or commerce/business centers, that would justify the pricing unless you have a monopoly. « less

This Comfort Inn was priced well and had a clean room, with a good amount of conveniences : microwave, fridge, coffee pot. I would stay again if coming through the area. The receptionist was very helpful. Wishing the fitness rooms at these Comfort Inns had a little more than one or 2 pieces. Not everyone uses treadmills, elipticals and good bikes are very popular too ! Overall , very good and very decent breakfeast . « less

The property is very nice but has its pros and cons. Overall the room was good and looked recently renovated.It was very spacious and had a microwave-fridge, iron and ironing board, etc. There was a coffee maker on the bathroom counter but placed by the toilet. I would suggest it be moved to the other end of the counter in all rooms. The beds are very comfortable but the pillows are not of the same quality, and in fact are quite small. The pool was great, but the hot tub was filled in- yes, you could where that had been done by the outline on the floor. The breakfast offerings did have some variety, both hot and cold. It was nice to see the yogurt and cranberry juice, not all hotels offer that. We used the guest laundry, and it worked very well and our clothes dried quickly. The evening and overnight desk clerks were very nice and helpful. The morning desk clerk- who happened to be the owner- was friendly and talkative but there was an issue over Choice Privileges, and a member of my party felt this was rude on the owner's part. The location was not really convenient to restaurants and such because we like to be within walking distance. However, all of the newer Defiance hotels are located in a compound-type area all to itself. The value was good, about the same as what a lot of the area mom-and-pop places are charging per night with much more offered here. Overall, would stay here again. It seems to be more business-oriented- would definitely recommend for that type of stay. « less
