Pulling up to this hotel I was slightly frightened. It is older. Outside shows its age. Lobby is also a little outdated. But hotel staff was really helpful. And room was shockingly nice. Very comfortable, and being by an airport I was scared of noise but it was quite. Phenomenal location, maybe 10 minutes from heart of New Orleans and beings it is outside of town it was easy to get in an out. So get past the less than modern appearance and just enjoy it for what it is...a comfy decently priced room...because if your in New Orleans, lets face it...your not there for the room, your there to be out and about with a nice place to rest in between. « less

This hotel is terribly outdated and needs some much needed TLC.. The hallways are run down, carpets stained and worn. The rooms are about the same, carpets trashed/stained/worn and need to be cleaned or better yet just replace them all. The bed linens are old and worn. Walls are very thin, I could hear Conan blasting from the TV on the other side of the door/wall and hear every time the other guest would cough. Walls have stains all over them. The safe is on the floor in the closet, how you are supposed to get into it i have no idea unless you feel like laying on the floor. The bathroom could use an update and some deep cleaning.. There were hairs all over the floor. If this is the quality of the Comfort Suites Brand, I would recommend skipping them and not stay at them. Very disappointing.. « less

Long hard drive from Del Rio to New Orleans - made even harder from the lack of sleep because of my poor choice of budget hotel the night before. Rather than head right into New Orleans with it's $500 a night rooms, I chose to stay just on the edge of 'The Big Easy' in Kenner -a nice, clean, little burb, close to everything. Despite my bad experience the night before I choose another 'budget ' hotel - the Comfort Inn - inexpensive and rated #4 by my fellow TripAdvisor travelers. Close to I10, it was far enough away to be out of the din. Quiet with great parking for Rod. An older hotel it had an understated style of a New Orleans hotel - inside and out. True nonsmoking establishment throughout. There were signs of wear and tear as I went up to my room and the smell inside the elevator was horrendous and as I entered my room I had my concerns . Quickly my fears were put to rest. Very nice room - definitely updated, still some signs of wear and tear - but done very well. There was a smell to the room of carpet cleaner ( no surprise, I had been prewarned by a fellow traveller's review ) but it was faint enough and faded quickly. And ....the carpet was spotless, like the rest of the room. Once again, all the amenities I had come to expect - a safe, small fridge, microwave, Iron and board , hairdryer. Nice big flatscreen TV with a good cable package. Excellent work desk with lots of plugs for my toys and great wifi. The A/C unit was spotless and when I needed heat, it was very clean air. Nice, clean furniture and the bed was just out of this world - soft, comfy, with big fluffy down pillows - very hard to get out of in the morning. Bathroom was good sized, spotless with lots of towels, lights, soaps and plenty of water pressure - Princess Pressure. Decent weight room and a very unique pool - half indoors / half outdoors. Great Business Centre too. Going down for breakfast in the morning, I was pleasantly surprised that there was no longer a smell in the elevator - not sure why. Great free breakfast, the usual waffles, cereals, fruits, juices, coffee, etc but also a very nice lady making eggs for you as you wanted. By definition this is a budget hotel but a very good valued budget hotel. There were no surprises here, my fellow travellers had given me some very honest reviews. This not a hotel you would bring business clients to impress but it is a very comfortable and convenient Inn to stay in.

We had an early morning flight (5:30AM) and decided to get a room close to the airport. We had seen that a motel shuttle was available. We discovered the shuttle didn't run between 11:00PM and 5:00AM so we had to pay $15 + tip for a taxi to go for a 2 mile trip to the airport. We also had trouble finding a nice place to have dinner the night we arrived. There were no nice restaurants nearby that you could SAFELY walk to from the motel. There were 4 lane highways going all directions. All that was available on our side of the highway was a McDonalds. Once we were inside the motel, our accomodations were fine. Our room was clean and comfortable. We didn't get to try the buffet breakfast because our flight was so early. « less

The walls were thin, rooms haven't been updated in decades, upholstery is stained, sheets were rough and wrinkled, and you have to lay on the floor to open and close the safe. The maid did clean the bathroom, but the carpet was hopeless. I stayed in Kenner for the Super Bowl for $600/night. They should take some of that money and remodel the rooms and the lobby. The only good feature was the front desk help. They were very courteous and helpful. I didn't try the free breakfast. From this experience, I will never stay in another Comfort Suites. « less
