While the variety of food choices could be better, this is still a good hotel for business travelers. Rooms and service are great. However, there needs to be a wider variety of food choices since, as a vegetarian, it is very difficult to eat at the hotel (lack of pasta, rice dishes). WiFi works great, rooms are comfortable, staff is attentive. It is showing its age, but it's still very comfortable from western standards. « less

My partner and I checked in this hotel for an overnight stay. We arrived around 10pm and luckily they had a vacant room at that time. For 7500php, we got their deluxe room with free breakfast. The front desk officer even offered us a late check out time because we checked in late. That's going the extra mile for her. I appreciated it.
When we got to our room, i was a little disappointed. The room was spacious enough but the facilities were a liitle "old". The television was a cathode-ray tube, not the usual LCD TV that typically what 4-5 star hotels have. The bed is a little bit hard but Im not really a fan of fluffy, very soft beds so it's okay with me. However when I look around the room, the ceilings were already showing signs of aging and the furnitures are not that well maintained.
A good thing about the room we had is the size of the bathroom, great for couples! Huge mirrors are great specialy for those people who always enjoy looking/checking themselves before leaving the room (like me).
We ate at their breakfast buffet (i think it was 7 Corners or something like that). The food selection was good, just right to have enough choices for those people who like to taste everything. We like their TAHO. ^^
Since I'm a cake addict, i bought a slice of their chocolate cake available in the lounge area for around 125php. I was disappointed. It was not moist at all, bordering to having a "grainy" texture. To make it short, i had better cakes for the price ive paid.
The staffs were great, two thumbs up. But unfortunately the people working in this hotel were not enough for me to overlook the lack of "class" their rooms have.
Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria - looks good on the outside, a let down on the inside. « less

Top notch customer service experience, but the hotel is definitely aging so just be aware of that fact. Check out the huge old TV in the room photos! Haven't seen those in a hotel for some time now. The room as ok, not splashy or elegant or super comfortable. The bed was hard and the noise from the street was annoying. I forgot to ask for a quiet room. Just medium pressure in the shower, but very roomy. A separate and huge walk up tub and too bad I didn't have time for a nice long soak.
Usuallly I stay at the Shangrila Edsa, and switched as my last stay at that hotel was not as I remembered and the property seemed to be aging. I definitely did not move upwards in choosing this hotel. Plus, I noticed a big reduction in hotel security at this property, which was interesting, but I didn't encounter any problems.
Upon checkin, I upgraded to Club Level. It was worth it to get free internet access and the ability to have customers meet me up there for Happy Hour. Club staff was super friendly and helpful.
Breakfast in the Club was not too exciting so I went to the buffet downstairs. There were enough selections, and it was ok. Not the best, but not the worst. Actually I checked out the dinner buffet and after seeing browned and aged foods sitting out there, it was easy for me to completely avoid dinner buffet. Totally unappetizing. Breakfast was different, not too easy to ruin breakfast buffets. I could get freshly made eggs, or soup, plus other foods, pastries and fruits. Again, not the best but definitely not the worst I've seen. I was hungry so it was ok.
A couple nice touches to talk about. The Club had fresh coconut water which is always great. I just wish they would've cut the top off so I could take a spoon and scoop out some of the delicious coconut after I drank the water. What a waste!
The other nice touch was the welcome gift for being a Priority Club member. Fresh sliced pineapple and red bean mochi. Yum!!
I will most likely return to this hotel in my next trip to Manila. My stay was too short and I wasn't able to take advantage of the adjacent huge shopping mall. Just go to Level 3 and you can walk right into the mall. Wow! Next time! « less

Crowne Plaza Hotel In Manila Galleria : Originally I requested For A King size Bed But When I arrived They Only Had 2 Double bed To Offer. View Of my 16th Floor Room (1603) was Unfinished OLD Blackened High rise Building .TV Was Very Old Probably Late 70 th- early 80th. Carpet Old So As Bedding. Internet Charges (900 Pesoes, About $22 Per Day Or $7.5 Per Hour) , Breakfast Buffet Rating Average Quality $26.00, Outrages Local Phone Call Charges & Tiny 2 x330 Mil (2x12 Oz) bottled Water per Room . Overall You Can Get Much Better quality & Cheaper Hotel In Manila Phillipine In better Area-Where Everything Including Food (about $7.00)& Interent From Internet Cafe In Most major Mall About $3.00 for 1.5 Hour.
A Note About Manila: Be carefull About Taxies: First Make Sure They Turn Their Taxi Meter On & Pay Exactly What The Taxi Meter Says & Not More. 2: Make Sure The conciege At The Hotel write Down The Taxi Liecence Plate Number before You get In The taxi (many kidnepping In Manila).
3: Even though Philipine People very Nice & Polite But I did Not Find Manila An Interesing City To Visit , traffic & Polution Very Very Bad, A Diryt city With Virtually Nothing exciting In Compaison With Beijing, Shanghai,Bankok, Tokoyo Or Even Seoul To visit. Most Popular Philipino Food That You Can find In Many Food Chains & Cafes , White Rice & Fried Chicken With Hardly Any Fresh Cooked Vegetables.
Tap Water Is contaminated So Try Not To Eat Any salads Or Uncooked Vegetables (lettuce & Tomato On Burgers) Since It Is Washed In That water . I Asked Several Fast Food Mangers & Cafes About The Water Used In Washing Their vegies & They All Said washed In Tap Water. « less

First stay (with enthusiastic reservationist on email): I was surprised how excellent the customer service was when I checked in at the Club Lounge. There were some snacks and drinks but I just helped myself with water. I was not sure if I was allowed to get some food, so I did not pay much attention. I thought that check-in in at the Club Lounge was special because I was a Priority Club member! (NOT! I realized last week that I paid for the special treatment)
I was told that my reservation included breakfast for two, but the reservation was for only one person. I thought, it was good deal, the breakfast was free. Buffet breakfast was good and enjoyed it. My first stay was not perfect, but it was ok, not to mention the rude front desk staff and incompetent security and bell staff.
Second reservation (very uninterested reservationist, the same person I emailed before): When I asked for Priority Club rate, she started being uninterested, did not answer my email after 8 hours everyday (3 days of exchanging emails) and she answered emails impatiently, compared to my first reservatiion (which I did not negotiate rate then).
Finally, after the exchange of emails (I tried to find a better rate), I found out from the reservationist that on my first stay, I paid for the use of the Club lounge for 2 and breakfasts for 2 which was not explained during the reservation and check in process. Had they explained it to me when I checked in, I could have use the Club lounge and had someone eat the other breakfast! I could have given the other breakfast to any stranger instead of wasting $25+! And to make the story short, she had given me a rate which was different from the company rate I asked for.
Very disappointing customer service. I like the hotel and because there are only 4 Priority Club hotels in Manila, and I still come back for my 2nd and 3rd stay next month. Knowing that someone from management reads Trip Advisor, they need to meet with their staff to discuss how to fix customer service issues and raise the bar! If they need business, we expect excellent customer service! If they dont take care of us, they know what's coming next.
I wonder how will my next check-in process next month compared to paying special rate to be checked-in on the 19th floor? To be continued...... « less
