We love to gamble at Planet Hollywood. Its younger and fun and all around a good experience gambling at this casino so we decided to stay there for a 1 night last minute Trip. Sadly, the rooms are older with tiny windows with no light and worse of all it was dirty with poor upkeep. These are things management can control. Mildew in the shower, dirty faucets, broken drains etc.. all issues with our room. And since its an older hotel (Formerly the Aladdin) the walls are thin. We heard carts in some secret hallway behind our room all day and night. Thats right even at 4am in the morning the service carts or something rolling up and down. Overall cleanliness and upkeep will sadly keep us from staying here again.
Why stay here when you can stay at the Wynn or Cosmo for almost the same price and have a huge window and clean 5 star room? Ill still go to gamble there though. Oh and the SPA is terrible. Looks like you walked into someones basement from 1978. Same old furniture and it needs upkeep and paint like the rest of the property. Its actually kind of embarrassing. « less

I stayed in this hotel for a great price last week, it is very well located so you can walk on the strip the rooms are very comfortable and clean. There are lots of restaurants for your choice and don´t miss the pool located on the 6th floor its a nice spot to chillout and play as well. Vegas is a real experience and from the hotel I´d stayed before (Treasure Island and The Mirage) this is for sure the best one in regards to price - benefits. « less

This hotel was a big let down to us, on arrival we pulled up and then entered what seemed to be a dull and dismal paking lot reception area, the casino was bright and cheerful but then you expect that. Sad to say the rooms were dimly lit and we found them dirty, in fact fluff rolled around the bathroom like tumbleweed, it was eventually cleaned on the day we left « less

I styed there with my husband as part of our honeymoon trip , booked the hotel in the evening before for a smoking room .In arrival after we mentioned we are on a honeymoon , we recieved spacious room , non smoking , on the 8 or 9th floor with view to AC engine on a near roof top (don't even mention the noise ...). we went back to the reception , went back in line and went to a diffrent receptionist that was much much nicer , she upgraded us to a diffrent room on the 23rd floor , smoking (as we requested )with a view to bellagio fountains and the strip !!! couldn't ask for abetter room & show . the room itself was nice less spacious than the first but agian nice and clean . Hotel theme is very nice and young , location is good too in the middele of the strip, close to all other hotels & casinos . has a mall inside (I did not spent my time there bacuase I was planing on the outlets on the way back from LV to LA) and a nice casino . For a single night we realy couldn't ask for a better deal . « less

Since I only booked this hotel 2 weeks in advance I paid about $235 each night for a Thu, Fri & Sat night stay in May. At the time of booking there were several other hotels very close to this location for about the same price or less but we chose this one in order to be near some family members in the Hilton Elara.
After my three night stay I can say I don't really think there is much special about PH. The rooms are pretty basic for Vegas and nothing really made me want to go back. We did have some problems that were resolved during our stay but even without those issues I was not impressed. I have stayed in lots of Vegas hotels and this one seemed a bit expensive for just a basic hotel and casino. Here's the way I see it. Note that the following pros can be found at many, many Vegas hotels:
Pros: 1) Location is very good. It is dead center on a very nice stretch of Las Vegas Blvd (aka the Strip) You can walk to many things from this location. It is across the street from Bellagio and Cosmopolitan which are VERY NICE 2) Miracle Mile shopping is in the PH hotel. Some good middle-end shops. AND a Walgreens... 3) It is part of Caesars Entertainment Group (i.e. Total Rewards Program) so if you frequent Vegas and get comps this is an advantage. I don't go enough or gamble enough to get many comps so this doesn't help me. If my room had been comped at this hotel I'm sure I would have been happy but to me if you have to pay $200+ the price just doesn't justify the average experience...
Cons: 1) The rooms were just very basic for a high price. 2) They are obviously trying to appeal to a "hip" younger crowd. And that seems to be what they get. Average age seemed to be late 20s. They had girls dancing on the tables behind the games which just seemed cheesy to me. I am 37 and felt a bit old. 3) Table minimums are pretty steep. Saturday night the BJ tables were all $25 minimum bets which is too rich for my blood. I think the craps were $15. This is not really different from the really nice casinos but I just didn't think the hotel warranted the cost 4) Restaurants were a bit pricey for what you get. Cost was not more than other nice strip hotels but the food I had was simply mediocre. I paid $6 for a glass of "fresh squeezed" OJ that tasted like it was from concentrate. They food was just like everything else. Pricey and average... 5) Long lines to check in and do ANYTHING at the front desk. Our keys had to be reprogrammed 3 times which took forever 6) The hotel rooms were not as quiet as they should be. Although there was no mention of construction or renovations they were obviously doing some type of work very near our room at 10am on Friday morning. There was loud banging that woke us both up after a hard & late night on the town. I called and complained. I will give them credit as they did move us to an "upgraded" room that had a slightly better view but packing and unpacking all of our belongings after we were all settled in was not fun. Plus the room was not really much better and we wasted precious sleep and a good hour of our vacation time dealing with this. Even after we moved the noise in the hallways and water pipes was very loud.
After I sit back and read the above I feel like maybe I'm getting a little old. But then again it is very accurate based on our experience. I'm really not that old and still like to party. I guess I have higher expectations than some but the bottom line is I don't mind paying a higher price for a better experience. To me PH just didn't deliver anything special. I "pay to play" when it's time to have fun but now I know to spend that kind of money elsewhere. I won't be back at PH unless the price is a small fraction of what we paid... « less
