After reading all of the reviews about this property I was a little nervous. We were in town for a wedding and this was where the block of rooms was, so we decided to stay. We always stay at Marriotts and were not disappointed that we stayed here. The hotel was dated, but extremely clean. We kind of liked the feel of the hotel. We used the deck out back on Saturday...it was so nice. We had an executive king and it looked fairly new. The room was very clean the and bed was super comfortable. Would this be a destination hotel, no, but it was great for the weekend. I've also seen a number of people complain about no elevator...good grief, it was ONE flight of stairs. We made a couple of trips and enjoyed the extra calorie burn :) « less

Stayed at this Courtyard on the way to Nashville TN. The rooms were great, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. It was probably the quietest hotel room I ever had. I woud certainly recommend that travelers in need of a good night's sleep as they travel I-65 check in. « less

I have been traveling to the Merrillville area for work for the past six month and always stay at the Courtyard, generally for four nights at a time. Scott and the staff are the best, so friendly, always remember me, ask what type of room I prefer, offer to make dinner reservations and are happy to just sit and talk if I am bored! The hotel has a ski lodge atmosphere, flat screen TV's, new bedding and fridge and microwave in many rooms. Great breakfast and coffee/tea all day long. While this hotel may be somewhat dated in appearance to other Courtyards, the staff totally makes up for that - I would not stay anywhere else when traveling in this area! If the new JW Marriott in Indianapolis is looking for a great manager, they should steal Scott! « less

Here for 2 nights. Staff very nice - quick check in and knowledgeable about the area. Great breakfast and bargain at $8.95 for a full breakfast buffet (and cooked to order eggs). Room was fine, clean, but strange layout - TV was to the side of the bed. Not a big TV watcher, so that was OK. Internet was fast and easy to log in. Client recommended hotel but would stay there again even without the customer rate. One complaint was could not get the room cool enough. Also, as is right on the interstate, a little noisy with the window open. If you like fresh air, ask to be on the side away from the road. « less
