Minutes away from LAX Int'l. Airport; right next to a Starbucks cafe; close to Disneyland, Home Depot Center, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Sta. Monica Pier; centrally located in the South Bay; 15 miles to downtown LA; an outside heated pool; street-level and underground parking; spacious guest rooms and suites, jacuzzi suites; couple of miles from shopping centers; nice breeze from the beaches; mostly non-smoking hotel; 70+ TV channels including HBO and other premium channels; restaurants within walking distance.
In 2010 our rooms were updated with new carpeting, paint, drapes, beds and bedding, armoires, lamps and other furniture. Ceilings have new paint, smoking rooms are in one wing. Suites have flat-screen TV's and eventually all rooms will have them. All rooms and suites have mini refs, microwave ovens, coffee maker, iron and board, and hair dryer. Internet access is complimentary and so is breakfast and parking.
Meeting room is around 550 square feet; can accommodate 20 - 25 classroom style seating; has a flat-screen TV; DVD player. We do give assistance for car rental, tours, same-day dry cleaning service.
No Pets Allowed. No Kitchenettes.

We spent only one night at the Baymont and really enjoyed it. Check in was very quick. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The small refrigerator was great to have for cooling our water.
The complimentary breakfast is the best I've seen. They actually serve real bacon and real eggs; both boiled and a version of scrambled. I was totally sold!!
The down side is that the views were boring. I can live with that for a couple of nights for comfort, great breakfast and excellent prices. I'll stay there again!!!
Oh, I forgot to tell you about another PLUS!! There is a Starbucks right next door! « less

"Service" Upon arrival, after we'd sorted out the taxi (see below) we were checked in. This involved being given the room keys (cards) and told that we needed to use the keys in the elevators and that we were on the 4th floor. We were not given any direction to our rooms or even the elevators and had to ask another guest to direct us (there are no signs from reception either).
"Free Shuttle" Upon booking, we were informed that the hotel provided a free shuttle to/from LAX airport, however there was very little detail about this online. Therefore we emailed the hotel to ask if/how we needed to arrange this. They promptly responded with clear directions of where we needed to go at the airport and a phone number to call when we landed to let them know we'd arrived and needed picking up. However, when we landed and called the hotel, they then told us to get a taxi and that they would pay for the taxi for us. This they did but it was more hassle than we were expecting as the taxi driver struggled to understand where the hotel was and then had to be asked several times for a receipt, without which, the hotel wouldn't pay for the taxi.
"Non-smoking Room" The room is what you'd expect for the price and star-rating. Our only grumble would be that the non-smoking room smelt of smoke. Room has a tv, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a hair drier in the bathroom. There is also free wifi in the rooms but we had to get the access code from reception who insisted they provided it with our rooms keys, but they never.
"Swimming Pool" We never intended to use the pool at this hotel and its a good job. It is tiny! You could walk the length of it in 3 steps. I've seen bigger jacuzzis. Seems pointless having it.
None of these things are bad enough that people should avoid it but a few simple changes could make a lot of difference here. « less
