Second time staying at this hotel and very pleased. Very convenient to I-40, nice clean rooms. Very good breakfast included. A step up from the usual complementary breakfast because they have cook to order omeletttes. Very good coffee too. The price is very competitive as well. The pluses: Convenient location, Breakfast, Rooms, and comfy beds. Minuses: Older Hotel has smallish Bathrooms, Nice Pool but it is outdoors. « less

For years I've stayed at La Quinta when ever possible and prior to this their facility at Greenville/Haywood South Carolina was by far the best.They were just trumped by Hickory/Conover,NC.Terrific location,fabulous staff,their traditionally great beds,clean,quiet and many many good restaurants within a one and half mile radius(Ruby Tuesday,Red Lobster,Carrabba's,Olive Garden,Applebee's,etc).Also close to the Hickory Motor Speedway as well as I-40,Baker's Mountain and 30 miles from South Mountain State Park.Where they really excel compared to other La Quinta Inns and manmy other hotel chains is that they serve a full breakfast buffet versus the traditional continental breakfast and you can also get something personally made upon request.Cook is present during the serving hours of 6AM to 9AM.It is included in the room rate.If you are making plans to visit Hickory for any reason I would strongly recommend this property.Matter a fact I'm returning next weekend with my girlfriend.For even more convenience there is a Seafood Restaurant attached to the hotel. « less

I had needed some directions and they were fantastic about helping me get where I needed to be. I asked if the receptionist had a Tylenol or aspirin and she did not. As I was leaving one of the other ladies who works there chased my car down to offer me and Advil. « less
