2 star motel accommodation but with charms and in a great location being within walking distance from town and the ferry terminal. Friendly staff and a free breakfast. Wi-fi was free and the connection speed was excellent. Great rates and free parking.
We experienced some problems with the plumbing but these issues were immediately addressed. The first two nights were quiet and we slept well but experienced problems on our final night when our "neighbour" turned up at 1am and spent the next 2 hours slamming doors and making phone calls whilst standing right outside our window, before starting his car, idling it for ages, then speeding off. We also found our "clean" sheets to be stained. « less

stayed ther for one night on our way back from Olympic peninsula. Motel is really dated, room was clean even if it showed all the years people have been into it. Mattresses need to be changed as well as as all the linens (which anyway were clean). Breakfast, included in the rate, was really poor and we had to share the only long table with other guests. Ladies at reception were nice and helpfull (they even reduced our rate). if ever there'll be a next time, I'll look for something different. « less

My first stay on Bainbridge and not my last. Hotel is only ok- beds are mediocore, rooms a bit dated and free breakfast is nothing to get excited about. But the location is decent, within walking distance of great restaurants and bars. Expect there are better options on the Island with a bit of planning. « less

Other hotel in town was already booked and was quite a bit more anyways so after reading reviews on here we decided to go ahead and book it. The room was large and clean with a desk and chair. Had asked for a room away from stairs, lobby, etc hoping it would be quieter and we got our wish. We were put in the last building on the opposite side at the end of a dead end street facing a field. It was very peaceful and quiet. Had a hard time getting the deadbolt locked on the door since the door was not set correctly but eventually got it. Breakfast was adequate, I guess I had expected more from breakfast since the room was so nice, and the toaster was broken so no way to toast the bread, bagels & muffins. « less

The Island Country Inn certainly has a few things going for it, but needs to focus on a couple major shortcomings. In the good column, location is great, price is reasonable, and the front desk staff are gracious and helpful. In the "needs improvement" column, the mattresses desperately need to be replaced. They're soft and sagging, and long overdue for replacement. While we were able to get to sleep, we awoke with sore backs each day. The linens and bedspreads are also old, worn, and dirty. I found numerous hairs on my pillowcase. Management provided new, clean pillowcases immediately, and said they had a problem with their laundry machine. The hotel is generally dated and tired. Bathroom in our "suite" was tiny, though functional. Continental Breakfast was provided, but was very basic. A few cold cereals, toast, and a Belgian waffle-maker. They do provide hard-boiled eggs, which was nice. The dining area is pretty cramped and difficult to navigate. I would expect a place like Bainbridge Island to have at least one business-class hotel. This is really an old motel that needs quite a bit of work. Next time, we'll try the Best Western across the street. « less

Dear Valued Guest,
I have read your review and want to apologize for the condition of your mattress. We are in the process of trying to get the bedding replaced, but like many things during this economy, it takes time. We do our best to ensure that each of our guests enjoy a clean and safe environment as their home away from home. I will be working really hard with the staff to minimize such experiences. Thank you very much for your feedback. We always welcome it whether good or bad.
Regards,
Sean Miller Regional General Manager
