Title says it all. Great location for easy access to Pittsburgh especially sports venues. But service was terrible. Reserved a king size bed, which was available when I checked in, but they wouldnt give it to me as they were reserved for another guest??? Whats the point of reserving preferences when they'll just give you what they want to give you. Paper thin walls are great if you want to hear your neighbors "rocking the headboard" at 1am. And a $3.00 charge to access the business center if only to print a boarding pass. VERY UNSYMPATHETIC FRONT DESK. Not what I would expect from a "upscale" property. On the positive...the valet and bell hops were extremely efficient, polite, and helpful. If the valet and bell hops take over front desk, I might consider staying here again.

We (a family of four) stayed at the Wyndham from the evening of 15th May 2013 until 16th May morning. Prior to our stay at Wyndham, we were in another four star hotel (part of the Sheraton chain) in a neighboring state..giving us a good basis for comparison between the two. To my surprise, the one that was pricier was worse than the one that was a tad cheaper and WAY better.
This hotel has absolutely no understanding of what 'good customer service' and 'good hospitality' is..so much for being in the hospitality business! When we arrived at the hotel, we were rudely told by the valet personnel that we should "turn back, take a right and go park our car at a different location" his tone was loud and rude..last thing you expect when you first enter the hotel. After putting up with this disrespectful behavior, we were not provided any help from him whatsoever. Meanwhile, another gentleman from the valet booth came out and offered us a scheme to avail valet services at a cost of $28/day (again, the car is parked at another location) now, this guy is worth a mention, not only was he arrogant but he had a major attitude problem. After briefing us about the valet service, he tore out a receipt and THEN told us about the charge associated with it. When we asked what our other options were (considering we were only there for a night) he said, "you guys are locked in now" meaning, I cannot cancel the receipt I just tore out for you (without telling you the charge of course!) The receptionist who we spoke with about this incident did her best to look 'concerned' and 'apologetic' but failed at it..because a morning after, she completely forgot about the incident when we brought it up during check-out (she asked us about our experience at the hotel) This is not what you expect out of a brand like Wyndham. At our prior hotel we experienced top notch customer service with good, clean, updated rooms and nothing to complain about. Seems Wyndham does not encourage customers to leave a feedback and hence does not believe in keeping a customer feedback form in the room.
Did I mention, bedsheets with holes in them, a bathroom door which did not lock? I will never recommend this hotel even to anyone..go stay at ANY other hotel in pittsburgh downtown for a better experience. « less

The rooms and bathrooms are in need of updating; wall paper is dated; old and poorly installed. In Wyndham's defense they just took this hotel over from the Hilton chain, and the previous owner failed to invest in upgrades.
