I was thoroughly impressed with the hotel. I used to work for Hyatt a few years ago, and it really brought back great memories.
The rooms were designed differently from the hotel I worked at, but they were beautiful! I loved the contemporary layout and decorations. The beds were (as usual) amazing, and extremely clean. At other hotels, sometimes you'll find a hair or fingernail on the floor or in the bathroom...this room was spotless. I was very impressed.
I also requested a high up corner room the morning of my check-in, and my request was definitely honored. I appreciated that greatly.
My only complaint would be about the staff. Maybe the two people that checked me in/called my valet at checkout were tired or having a bad day; I'm not really sure. I wish they would have appeared a little happier to be there, though. When I walked in, they didn't greet us or welcome us, and there were no smiles at all. As we were checking out, we weren't welcomed back or asked how we enjoyed our stay. I know these are little things, but to some of us, they go a LONG way. Just a simple smile and a "Thank you for staying with us" would have been great.
Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay here. I will absolutely be staying at this hotel for my future trips to New Orleans. « less

Hotel was a short taxi ride from the Amtrak Station. Everything was very nice. The breakfast was superb and met our needs. I liked that the TV had easy to reach HDMI connections although I didn't use them this trip. Maybe I won't forget my HDMI cable next time. I would highly recommend this hotel to others visiting the Big Easy. « less

Great location if your on a conference, but I warn you to register in time, because they do raise there prices before major events.
The hotel was a good walk to downtown and attractions. There were a few places to eat near by, but not many. The area at night was very quiet, and it felt creepy. I did not feel comfortable walking around at night.
The hotel itself does not have room service, restaurant, bell boy, tourist desk, or any special services. They do have a self service washer and dryer, which I needed - so I was very happy that they had this located in hotel. The hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, but had limited knowledge of attractions.
Room was nice, clean and the right size. This was my first time in NO, so I had no idea were to stay. I would not stay here again even if I have a convention, as there are much nicer hotels in the area for the same rate or lower. « less

This hotel is in a great location, issue was parking and only 1 valet for 3 locations. I called early for the car and still it took 20 mins to get it each time we left the hotel. Really It was Jazz Fest weekend and a convention at the Convention Center. The city was packed. I agree with the one review on noise, but I don't know how you prevent that with the open area and breakfast is served from 630 til 10 during the week :) « less

My wife and 2 friends stayed at the Hyatt Place New Orleans Covention Center, one room for 2 nights, during the weekend of the French Quarter Fest. Was a blast. Great location to local bars, the riverwalk and shopping, and into the French Quarter Fest. We walked the weekend and did not need a taxi, or other transport. Staff went above and beyond to be helpful and nice. They assisted me in surprising my wife for her birthday. Went over well. Valet paking was helpful and not rushed, a plus. A little expensive for some, maybe a place to use the earned points from other trips. « less
