Very impressed with this BW! The only reason I could not give 5 out of 5 is because the bath towels felt like cardboard. Use some fabric softener and you'll get 5 out of 5 every time. Other than that, I really enjoyed this stay. « less

As a new member to Best Western's Rewards program, I recently concluded a leisure/business trip to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and chose to stay at this property located at White Bear Lake. I don't usually write reviews on hotel stays, but I wanted to express my gratitude to the staff and owner of the property for making my recent trip a very much comfortable and, overall, pleasant experience while I was in the state. From my initial early check-in and being met by a smiling front-desk attendant - Tracy, to my interactions with Nick Giusti, Guest Services Manager, and Eric Perkins, General Manager, and the daily housekeeping and breakfast area attendants, they left me a very satisfied customer of both their hospitality and Best Western as a whole. The owner of the property, Mr. Foussard, has a nice team in place as I'm sure he knows. As the saying goes, "You never get a second chance at a first impression". Very true and very well done. Thanks again. « less

Stayed in this hotel for 4 weeks for work related reasons. Over all was a really nice hotel, although it had a few quirks. The staff there were all extremely friendly in the hotel from the maids to the resturaunt employees. There was some remodeling being done while there that made the place look even better. Rooms were really nice and comfortable. Too many pillows on the beds made it kind of a pain when you got 2 beds that makes for a mountain of pillows on the floor so you can be comfortable in the beds. They give you a little rubber ducky every day when they clean your room (I thought this was a nice touch to help make the hotel stick in your mind). The bar/resturaunt is very expensive and they do not give any kind of discount to the hotel guests. The first 3 weeks were great, but the 4th week the maid service was extremely lacking. Maids wouldn't have all the towels removed out of my room (even tho I kept them in a neat pile for them), would return back about 3:30 and they would still be working on the room, and I guess my biggest let down was walking in while they were still cleaning to find one of them useing my phone charger to charge their phone. I always kept my luggage locked up but that kind of makes me nervous as to what else this maid crew would use of mine while not there, but nothing was ever missing atleast. One more note the elevator is pretty much any good if you are carrying a bunch of luggage. It is very, very slow and is allot faster to use the stairs. « less

I live locally but decided to try this hotel for a birthday night out with my girlfriend. The White Bear Country Inn is conveniently located next to White Bear's downtown shopping district and night life. As a hotel manager myself for the past 13 years I have a trained eye that usually prevents me from enjoying my hotel stays as I look for perfection. I felt it necessary to write my first trip advisor review to educate consumers on how fantastically well kept this property is! I had a large pillow top King size room that included all the most updated amenities. I-home clock radio, Wolf Gang Puck in room coffee, great channel line-up, vanity kit, etc..etc.. What really impressed me was the cleanliness, wow! After relaxing in the room for awhile we went to the onsite restaurant Rudy's Redeye Grill. My girlfriend and I go to Rudy's at least once a month and we agree it is our favorite restaurant in White Bear Lake. We always start by splitting a Rudytini, a delightful raspberry martini with other fruit juices topped with champagne. Really we have found not to be disappointed with any of their menu items but my personal favorites are the oyster's on the half, crab stuffed mushrooms, new orleans shrimp, prime rib, angus medallion's served dianne, and the pan fried walleye. What really surprises me about this hotel is the great staff. Everyone I encountered from the front desk, housekeeper, bartender, servers and wait assists all had smiles on their faces and ready to help. This really shows me that each person is happy and motivated to be working at The Best Western Plus White Bear Country Inn and it shows in the wonderful product that they provide. Thank you for the great service and I will be back! « less
