We had a lovely stay. The room was really lovely very clean with an excellent view. The electric blackout blind was brilliant for use when we arrived. The room was spacious and a lovely bathroom. The sheets were really white and their housekeeping do a grand job , i hope they get some credit to their good work on keeping the rooms well maintained. The rooms were quite and other guests not heard. Their was an excellent little shop and Starbucks for things at 3.15am and the staff were helpful seeing i was a bit tired from flying. There was a fight on and not even this disturbed our holiday. Plus the car parking was free, now that made a change. The only flaw too big to push a wheelchair and chat to new people like a small hotel. But Well done « less

Just returned from a 4 day, 3 night stay at the MGM. We went in a group with three other couples, and each couple stayed in a grand king suite (we ended up with a premier view). Kids stayed back home with the grandparents.
PROS:
1) The hotel and casino are MASSIVE! If you are indecisive of what you want to do or eat, the MGM offers multiple choices that will satisfy practically any taste or preference :)
2) The hotel rooms have been updated and ours was beautiful. Comfortable bed, excellent view, and relatively good soundproofing. Our room and bathroom were very clean (we had no issues with housekeeping). Electronic window shades allows you to customize how bright or dark you want your room to be.
3) The pools are gorgeous and include a salt water one if you're inclined to skip the chlorine.
4) The Spa is beautiful and relaxing. If you end up booking a service, you are able to partake in the amenities (like the sauna and whirlpools) for the remainder of the day. The staff are friendly and accomodating).
5) The monorail station is there (For $5 in each direction, you can save some steps and use this to get to the middle of the stip)
6) Currently home to one of the more popular night clubs on the strip.
7) Close to the airport.
CONS: 1) Tack on a $25/day resort fee on top of your room rate. (It's supposed to be for WiFi, daily newspaper, and use of the cardio room and business centre) This isn't an uncommon practice but apart from the WiFi (which was "complimentary" in the main parts of the hotel), we could have done without the rest. I don't know if we were supposed to pick up the newspaper ourselves, but it was never delivered to our room, nor were we asked if we wanted one.
2) Because the hotel is so large, getting from place to place can be quite a trek. Strange as it sounds, you have to walk through a corridor for shopping and restaurants (including the fancy ones) to get to the pool (from the grand tower, unless you knew a shortcut, it could literally be a 10 to 15 minute walk). If you're the self conscious type, it can be awkward when you're wearing your bathing suit and cover up. Walking to the monorail is just as far. When you spend the day (or night) walking and exploring the strip, walking some more just to get to your room can feel like a death march.
3) Although calling room to room (or locally) is free, calling long distance cost me about $17/min. No joke. Use your cellphone if you can.
4) Shower pressure in the rooms need to be impoved, but it's okay.
5) The location (being at one end of the strip) can make it tedious to explore the rest of the strip (unless you take a cab or the monorail)
6) Currently home to one of the more popular nightclubs on the strip. « less

Booked the MGM for the Rolling Stones Concert weekend. Got to Las Vegas and my luggage went to Burbank. Told my tale of woe to the guy who checked us in and he gave us an upgraded room and told me as soon as my bag arrived, the bellman would let us know. Well, that didn't happen; had to go "shopping" and didn't get my bag, which arrived an hour before the concert, until Sunday. When I presented my case to the operations manager, she very graciously comped us for a night and ate the resort tax. The newly renovated room was fabulous, the service was great; all of the workers that we came in contact with seemed happy. By the way, the concert was incredible. THE STONES LIVE ON!! « less

Very clean, extremely helpful staff, enjoyed our stay. The music in the casino and lobby is upbeat you just want to dance all the time. We found the concierge desk staff patient and very helpful. The best way to describe this place is 'It's like a cruise ship' with staff constantly cleaning, but taking the time to say hello or answer your questions. The room we had was amazing, ohuge, with a beautiful marble bathroom. The safe in the bedside table is great for storing a laptop. There are plenty of restaurants on site ranging in price from McDonalds to more exclusive restaurants, found the Rainforest Cafe very good! « less

Dear rangerfanDallasTx:
Even though we provide our guests with a fun and exciting resort experience, we also value our working guests. MGM Grand houses gorgeous convention facilities, a well equipped business center, and a staff of professionals well versed in the needs of the professional traveler. We simply make certain that when the work is done, your well deserved respite is truly unforgettable. This means providing you unbeatable experiences at all times.
Our newly renovated accommodations are popular for their lush décor and modern amenities, while the convenience of our airport check-in desk provides real expediency for registration. Dining choices like Wolfgang Puck and a host of others can accommodate any budget or taste.
We seek to create the complete resort experience, regardless of the reason for your stay. It is little wonder MGM Grand is the preferred option for casual and business travelers alike.
We look forward to your return, and thank you for your patronage.
