Being a five-starred hotel, I would have expected better staying: -Basic spa services (e.g. sauna or pool) are not included in the rate -Italian breakfast includes only cappuccino and croissants, bread, jam. -The reception is very busy (it took quite long time for both, check in and check out) « less

Great buffet, nice spa/pool (even if with disappointingly short opening times), but I wouldn't say that it's a five star hotel « less

2nd stay, after one and a half year. Positive: location, cleanness, overall high standards and very kind service in all compartments. Negative: The breakfast buffet, once glorious, is now simply a ghost of what it was: 25€ per breakfast may make sense, in Italy, for a glorious selection. Here, you only get and "Italian breakfast" buffet (sweets, cakes, tosts, jam...). If you want the rest of the buffet you must add extra 20€, but the offer is nothing special: fruit joice (not fresh), scrumbled eggs, bacon and little more. Truly NOT a 5stars luxury anymore. Amenities in the bathroom fit a 3/4 stars standard. The entrance to the SPA area is now charged 20€. It's very nice, despite not that large. On the other hand, rooms charge seems decreased -if you leave out these extras. This Hotel was created for the Olimpics. But this city (with increasing tourism and collapsing industry) cannot give enough business to a 5stars luxury place. The new management is making the effort to make this place less boring and attract more local people: aperitivo-happy hours, sunday brunch for families... You may question the pretentious design (a bit international, I'd say fitting the asiatic taste for "dark is luxury") and basic rooms are definitely small (the superior are very large, tough). But it'll be a fine stay. The breakfast-thing is a bit annoying as you're also expected to sit in two different areas of the room. Let's see how future years go by. I could come back, but I guess I'll try something different next time. « less

The hotel is in a decent location, close to the main shopping street. However first problem on arrival is to get inside the hotel without getting stuck in the revolving doors with your luggage. Service seems to start once you are inside. There it is great and super helpful though. If you have a choice stay in the main building as getting to the adjacent Palace 2 is not fun and rather annoying. The room was nice, but small. Can't see a couple fitting comfortably with their luggage. Most importantly though I slept well. « less
