Property Description

Located in the heart of the Between-the-Rivers Historic District, on the banks of the Oostanaula River, Rome's Hawthorn Suites provides a unique and warm setting for anyone, from the weekend group block to extended-stay corporate guest, to call their home away from home.
This beautifully renovated 1800s warehouse, with its original wood floors, brick walls and large sky-lit atrium, is Rome’s only upscale hotel property. We are Hawthorn's "Hotel of the Year" for both 2007 & 2008!        
Our truly unique layout is a refreshing break from the monotony of a typical hotel chain, and our well-appointed studios and suites are designed with every traveler in mind.
    Hawthorn’s convenient central downtown location is a short distance from Rome’s numerous banquet halls, corporate and medical centers, museums, galleries and shops. Our property is within comfortable walking distance of several high-quality, locally-owned restaurants; also, there are five retail spaces located right here in our lobby, including a personal fitness trainer, salon, boutique gift shop, art studio/gallery, and photography studio/gallery.
    Additionally, our complimentary hot breakfast buffet and Wednesday evening reception dinners, newly upgraded wireless internet network, guest laundry, exercise room, and many more amenities make the Hawthorn Suites a clear choice for corporate and business travelers or extended stay guests.
    For group blocks, our group sales office will personally track rooming lists and special requests and touch base with appointed contact persons before cut-off dates to ensure accommodations are carried out with punctual attention.
    We offer special discounted rates for group blocks, applicable to any of our nine different room types. The room types vary from a standard one-bed room with mini kitchenette to a two-bedroom two-bath suite with separate living room and full kitchen.
    Hawthorn in Rome currently offers two meeting spaces. Our private conference room, perfect for small business meetings, seats up to 12 people. Our banquet facility seats up to 48 people. The adjacent Forum Civic Center and several other banquet venues are within walking distance of our property.
    With the upcoming completion of The Forum’s parking deck comes the installment of a Town Green featuring a relaxing park area with fountain, rain gardens, benches, as well as the expansion of the bicycle trail network and riverfront recreation space. Additionally, in 2009, the Roman Holiday Riverboat will have its new permanent dock right here on the Oostanaula, alongside the brand new pedestrian bridge. Hawthorn Suites is also looking forward to its own exciting expansion, planned in tandem with the development of these neighboring riverfront parks.
