Once you step outside the hotel there is a free bus that takes you to the hotel. It takes only a few minutes. Drops you off opposite the other side of the road so it's very good for getting back and forth to the airport.
We booked a double room which is small but fine the air con didnt seem to be working. When we left for some sightseeing and by the time we got back the air con was still non responsive. So we called the concierge and they upgraded us immediately. Within 30 mins we had a larger room which had working air con, and our luggages were also brought up. I cannot state how much we appreciated the service given. The staff are very welcoming and helpful.
The location is also central to town. If you cross the road you are only 5 mins away from centre of town and markets. « less

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel in April 2013.
Check-in was quick and efficient, the staff who checked us in were professional and pleasant and helped us with maps and information on getting around etc., which we found helpful.
The room was on the small side, but it was very clean. The décor is worn in places, which shows that this hotel is in need of renovation at some point soon, but overall this did not detract from the comfort of the room.
The bed was comfortable, and the shower was of a good standard. The curtains also did a good job of keeping out the light from outside, although if you are a light sleeper then you will want a room that does not face the street, because the windows don’t have the best level of noise insulation. The cooling system was, however, not very efficient – it seemed to do exactly the opposite of what we were trying to do with it, and when we wanted to cool the room at night we resorted, in the end, to just keeping the window wide open. At the height of summer I can imagine that this may be an annoyance, as Amsterdam gets pretty hot.
Location: the hotel was well-placed, on one of the tram lines with direct access to the Centraal rail station, so if you are flying into Schipol or arriving on the train, it is very easy to get to the hotel. The location is also great for access to the museums – the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh are right round the corner (the latter was closed for renovation when we were there, but we went to see the collection being shown at the Hermitage). A word of warning, however: when we left Amsterdam, the tram to the station was so jammed with people that it was a struggle to get onboard. So I suggest either taking a taxi or the airport bus if you absolutely need to be on time to the airport.
Overall, a comfortable, solid hotel in a good location within easy access to the sights, and I would use it again if were to come back to Amsterdam. « less

After having been to Amsterdam many times over the years and staying in many of the so called tip top hotels, I can certainly say that the NH Amsterdam Centre is one of the best.
Me and my wife stayed here in the latter half of April for around 5 nights and have nothing but good things to say.
Starting with the receptionists who were always ready to help out with any queries. Nothing was too much trouble. We were also very happy with our room, even though there wasn't much of a view as they were full and only had a room facing the back wall. Nevertheless, this was compensated by the fact that the room was comfortable and very cosy.
The location is an obvious plus as you're a stone throw away from the famous hip area of Leidsplein and all the other attractions like the Museums and trendy boutiques. Vondelpark is just round the corner.
The breakfast is ok,,nothing really to write home about. But its adequate.
In closing I'd certainly stay here again with no hesitation. « less

I Stayed in this hotel for 4 days, I took deluxe room, it was so cosy, confortable, warm. The room was furnished very good, it had TV, clean wardrobe, shelf for keeping money, table with chairs, sofa, and all other things one need for staying. The bethroom was very clean and it had every nccessery things for bath, hot water was perfect. The stuff was very good, they are ready to answer to every question at every time you need. The breakfast was also very nice and you could have nearly everything you want, tea, cappucino, and wide variety of foods, fresh fruits and so on. The only thing I would like them to overview is the way wi-fi works, because it was very slow, I don't know maybe it was because of my place or I don't know why, and one more disadvantage was they don't have car parking, it was a real problem for us because if parking the car in somewhere else it would be so expensive-80 euros for an hour,,, So in spite of these two disadvatages I wouldlike to stay in this hotel again if I come to Amsterdam. <3 « less

There are NH hotels all over Amsterdam in some pretty prime locations and it may be this "cornering of the market" that has led to such complacency. Indeed, the location of this offering, close to Leidseplein and the museum quarter, is its only real plus point. Four star it is not. From the filthy corridor carpets, the 20 year old room TV, cramped bathrooms and scrappy breakfast to the worn, chipped furniture and comedy mini-bar, this hotel disappoints. There are far better choices all over the city that have not rested on their corporate laurels. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"My team and I had a great stay at the Marriot Norcross last week. I was unable to meet up with Ms Vanita and unable to passed her a box of Godiva Chocolates I bought for her. We will not even bother to seek other hotel-planning-organization after we have used your great service. You can even quote me on this. Meanwhile, we have to make 2 trips to the states every year from now onwards and will definitely use your services. Once again, thank you for making our trip a success." O.S. - Atlanta, GA
"The bid feature of the website is cool. Instead of the buyer committing blindly to the seller, the seller has to accept the buyer's terms and provide a price. We love it." J.K. - Lansing, MI
