We stayed here for my niece's graduation from Tulane. It was clean, welcoming, marvelously accessible to any place we wanted to go. The streetcar stopped right across the street, we walked to the French Quarter and the Superdome. Will was always available at the door to get us a cab if we needed one. Martina,at the front desk, greeted us warmly each time we walked in, Lisa was a wonderful waitress, and Casey, the manager, was eager to make sure everything and everyone was working to make our stay perfect--- and it was. Thank you all! « less

Can't say enough good things about the Whitney Wyndham Hotel. The parking attendants, housekeeping, and the front desk always greeted us with a smile and were extremely courteous and helpful. Definately a jewel in the Wyndham crown. We were especially impressed that Martina at the front desk remembered us as we came and left during our stay and was soo helpful in obtaining a vase for our daughter's flowers. The staff certainly made our trip much more enjoyable. Let me not forget the breakfast staff in the dining room ! VERY friendly and breakfast was delicious. THANKS and we will definately be back. « less

My wife and I spent three nights in May, 2013, and were very impressed with both the accomodations and staff. We prefer classic, historical architecture over cookie-cutter modern buildings, and the Whitney Wyndham on Poydras filled the bill. The interior has been tastefully updated without elimination of the history, and the staff happily entertained our requests (some of them a little odd) for umbrellas during a thunderstorm, picture-taking while we were dressed up, arranging for strange modes of transportation at strange hours, etc. For the cost, our stay in downtown NOLA, five blocks away from the French Quarter, couldn't have been more comfortable! Recommended for those who appreciate good service and a classy old-school gestault. If making reservations, however, I'd recommend that you insist on a streetside room, as the view on one side of the building has been destroyed by a modern monstrosity (check out pictures). We had a room with a view on the seventh floor; if we had had to stare at a cement building instead of downtown New Orleans, this review would probably only be a 4 out of 5.

During a recent (music biz) stay in New Orleans (May, 2013) to attend the Zone Music Reporter Awards Show, our wishes came true not only at the music awards show (where our CD, "The Gathering" won Best Contemporary Instrumental Album and the Album of the Year award) though also with our room, in that was homey and the view was amazing, The hotel concierge attendants, Shantal and Patrick gave us true Southern hospitality from the moment of arrival and throughout our stay. A personal thank you to Shantal for your kindness and excellence. :-)
Management response from Casey Callais, General Manager
I'll be sure to pass along your kind comments to Patrick and Shantel. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon! (Congrats on your award at the Music Awards!)
Sincerely, Casey A. Callais General Manager ccallais@wyndham.com
