Hibiscus Beach Resort is a casual and comfortable oceanfront boutique hotel comprised of 38 beachfront rooms in 6 freestanding buildings, set among lush native foliage and sweeping palms. Located on secluded and picturesque Pelican Cove Beach, just 3 miles from quaint historic downtown Christiansted and tourist shopping and just 15 minutes from the island’s main airport.

I am sorry to say that we usually make the most of where ever we go in the Caribbean for holidays but this has to be the worst, the people that work there just do not care at all, would never go back!! The first night we ate in the restaurant the food was okay but pricey, but ended up with food we did not want and they would not do anything about it the lady acted like oh well just thought you would like that instead, the next night tv broke which is fine we got another one with no remote never got the remote all the time we stayed, the next night a/c broke and did not work waited two days for them to tell us it could not be fixed so we had to sleep in the next room over and leave our belongings in the other room! Asked for different things etc..no one ever got back to us! Just would not stay there again room was dirty and not taken care off this hotel needs over hauling from top to bottom!!! a good coat of paint would help!! sorry but very disappointed and we are very easily pleased but would not return! this was suppose to be a birthday gift but we did make the most of it!! I spent 4 nights at Hibiscus in April and enjoyed it so much I am returning for 8 nights in September. With that said, if you are looking for a perfect room at the Ritz, this is not your hotel. This is a BEACH hotel and it comes with sand, tarps on the roofs to help keep the rain out, and a well-mannered dog called Stoli. However, the rooms are clean, large and well-appointed, the linens and bedding are top notch, and the staff is as good if not better than any at the 5-star hotels I’ve stayed at (I travel solo and was made to feel like a part of the Hibiscus family). The restaurant/bar is open air, so I was pleasantly surprised that the food, both in choices and quality, was so very, very good, and the bar, visited by locals and guests, is not just fun; it’s outstanding! The minor downside is the beach directly in front of Hibiscus is rocky, so you have to walk 30 steps to an area where you can safely enter the water (not much of an inconvenience at all). « less

We just returned from the hibiscus beach resort and had a wonderful time. I decided to search the resort and see what people had to say about it just for the fun of it. Most were decent reviews but I always laugh at the poor reviews.
For us, and we travel throughout the Caribbean a lot, this place was perfect and exactly what we expect when we are in the Caribbean. We've always said that the people who stay at high class resorts are missing the entire island feel of the particular island. The only reason you are at the resort should be to sleep!! The rest of the time should be spent out enjoying the island!!! As long as the resort makes us feel safe and the room is clean. What more can you ask for? YOUR IN PARADISE!!
Overall our stay was great and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, if we had liked St. Croix more we would definitely come back to the Hibiscus

Definitely not for you if you are looking for a plush resort. However, the view can NOT be beat. Nothing better than 2 steps from my sliding glass door to white sand. The bathroom in #7 could use some updating but overall, it was a nice, clean room. The staff is great! We went just after high season so they were doing some maintenance (painting, clean up, landscaping) but the workers are happy to visit with you while taking a break. It is on 'Island Time' so they aren't working early or late or loudly! It was nice to have a restaurant on site and another next door at the Palms. My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and enjoyed just sitting on the beach for a few days! « less

If you can get past 3 things; the seaweed on the beach (just walk over it), a worn looking shower & slow breakfast service 1 of the days we were here then you're good to go! Our sliding door opens right onto the beach along w a perfect view of Buck Island. The room is clean & the staff is nice. The 6 days that we've been here safety hasn't been an issue, we walked the beach late @ night & never thought twice about it. The coconut french toast-a must have! Like previous reviews, if you're looking for luxury accommodations then this isn't your place. If you're looking for value & good accommodations-then look no further. « less
