Reception, the check in process and the staff were excellent...that however is where it ends...rooms need a major injection of TLC, blinds torn, drawers fall out, and the bathroom is just not that clean....towels got replaced day 2 with what could only be described as a slightly larger hand towel...breakfast was very over cooked bacon and sausages with overcooked eggs and cold toast (my husbands) mine was slightly better scrambled eggs with tomatoes. I wouldnt bother even if you take a 'groupon' package there are better places to stay than here... « less

I was in Adelaide for work and this hotel was close enough to the Showgrounds that I could walk. The hotel has obviously been recently renovated - it has a post-industrial feel to the reception area and hallways.
The rooms themselves are spacious and well appointed. In my particular room, the shower head left something to be desired as it was aimed at the side wall and I couldn't change the direction, so I had to squish into the corner, against the soap dish to actually get wet. The worst thing was that as I was there for a couple of days, I mentioned the problem, but nothing was done. The shower also dripped and due to the acoustics, was annoying.
On the first night, my flight from Perth landed late and that meant I didn't get to the hotel until around 10pm. The hotel had an all night menu, but the night receptionist was totally not interested in supplying the food - "It means I have to call the other hotel and I really don't want to do that at this time of night, just to get food"!!!!! What's the point of having an all night menu if the night receptionist can't be bothered?
Apart from these small problems, I would stay here again as the accommodation was reasonably priced, the room service on the other evenings was excellent and the bed was comfy. « less

The room was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was amazing! There was a small problem with the TV (due to the signals having changed recently) but this was the only problem with the night. Every other aspect of our stay here was perfect and I would highly recommend for other couples. « less

I'm staying at the Clarion Hotel Soho for business and will be requesting as soon as I get back that I NEVER stay here again.
First entering the room late at night after flying in and I am greeted with a dark room, cold room. I then go to open a draw which completely falls about. I also notice the lamp is torn to shreds.
Room is ok,not big but ok. The 'heater' pumps out cold air and the foxtel does not work though. The room service menu is also very limited which is very annoying as there are NO shops nearby. In fact there is nothing nearby at all.
The hotel does not have a gym.
I am also on the first floor and look onto a factory. :-( « less

We arrived late on the eve of the easter public holiday and were warmly welcomed at reception and efficiently checked in. Our room was at the back of the building, roomy and comfortable. We had a really good breakfast downstairs and the service all round was great. My only complaint was the measlely shower rose; I'm all for conserving water but I felt like I could only shower body part by body part! Good value hotel if you want to try something other than the big name hotels in town. « less
