Stayed here for one night over mother's day weekend for a quick trip to Seattle.
Location: The location of this hotel is fantastic, on 4th and University, just a few blocks from Pike Place Market and other attractions in downtown Seattle.
Rooms: We were upgraded to a room with a separate living area and sleeping area which we thought would allow grown-ups to stay up after kids went to sleep. The separated room was more decoration than actual added functionality as the doors to close off the bedroom part required the TV to be moved to be closed, plus the door was glass with a light curtain. The room was quite cramped for 2 adults and 2 kids. The bathroom of our room was nothing to get too crazy about, it was clean but I have seen more luxurious in motels. The wall surrounding the shower/tub in particular wasn't tiled but used what appeared to be a pre-assembled faux plastic tile shower enclosure. My wife remarked that the shampoo etc were nice quality but that's not something I care that much about. The room didn't add any functional amenities beyond a safe and a coffee maker. No microwave, functional refrigerator, etc.
Sleep quality: The mattress in our room seemed pretty new and sleep quality was ok, we did hear noise from the floor and from outside the street at night. There was something in the room that caused my allergies to flare up, not sure if it was the AC or something else.
Service: Staff was friendly, but service quite slow. We found the room service menu quite amusing. Continental breakfast: $19. American style breakfast: $28. 3 dog biscuits: $8. Fish and chips (served pool side if so desired): $89. Internet was not free and since I had to be in touch I paid $13 for the night. Every service that the hotel offered was very pricey and smelled of money grabbing.
Parking: There is no parking garage on site so your choices are either you park your car yourself, or you use valet parking, which cost $42. I opted for the latter and was rewarded with a brand new ding in my car.

For folks that appreciate traditional 20th century elegance and near Ritz Carlton quality service, this is a good option. I love the location which is walking distance to the seaport piers, Pikes Place Market, the Seattle Art Museum, shops, restaurants, just about anything. Fairmont President Club members enjoy free internet access and other amenities. Fairmont also makes available a pre-arrival web/smart phone check-in for President Club members that don't like to wait in line, very convenient. « less

A fantastic and consistent choice, no matter what your stay might consist of. I really enjoyed staying at this property for the first time, and was very happy about the every detail from beginning to end. The rooms are lovely, and the room service was incredible (it's probably ruined me for all other room service from here on in!). Have the egg white and asparagus omelette if you're looking for a lovely morning treat! The staff are attentive and fabulous, and I can't say enough about the positive at this hotel. A must-stay in Seattle! « less

We recently stayed at the Fairmont to celebrate my husbands birthday. The staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help me celebrate. They even specially delivered chocolate covered strawberries which was such a pleasant surprise. The room didn't have a view of Seattle, but we did not request that. The entire hotel was spotless, every time we encountered a staff member they were just really professional and helpful. They helped up to find a little store nearby for snacks, although it was super expensive, they told us exactly how to get there. The room was really quiet and clean. I would definitely go back again for special occasions or just to relax. There are tons of food options very close or with a short cab ride. I would say avoid Shuckers, it's close, but there are so many other places that are so much better, like Purple right across the street. « less
