Our hotel has 120 bedrooms made up of a mixture of twin (2 single beds) double (double bed with sofa) and accessible rooms (for wheelchair users. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have a TV with channels 1 - 5 sky sports and local radio channels. All rates include continental breakfast with two hot items. We also have 2 meeting rooms available for hire. The costs are £200.00 full day. This includes three sets of teas and coffees during the day, bottles of still and sparkling water, mints and biscuits. It also includes equipment such as pens, pads paper, flip chart, LCD projector and screen. The rate for half day is £169.00 this also includes all of the above. We offer a buffet style lunch for delegates which start from £6.15 a head. This includes cold sandwiches, crisps and fruit. We also offer an alternative option which is priced at £8.15 per head which is a cold sandwich buffet with two hot savouries, crisps and fruit. The meeting rooms will hold the following

As we are located in the city centre all amenities are around a 10 minute walk.
The Mailbox which has restaurants and designer shops is around a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The main street for clubs and bars (Broad Street) is located a short walk from the hotel.
The main shopping centre the Bullring is also around a 10 minute walk. The main station New Street is also a short walk away.

Could not be more disappointed. I stay frequently at IHG hotels and am usually impressed overall. Not here though, not even close. I admit that I booked this hotel by accident and actually intended to stay at the non express holiday inn but that is not the reason for my unhappiness. Check in was slow and confusing and, as a gold member, I was expecting a free drink voucher that I usually get. Nothing this time but also nothing to cry about. However the rooms give a new meaning of basic. They make you feel as though you have travelled back in time to the 80s with their tiny rear projection TVs which they still have the cheek to charge £10 for a movie on. I haven't checked out the bar or had breakfast yet but I hold no hope of this hotel (dump) redeeming itself. The charge is £150 a night but look somewhere else if you can't get it for £30 or under because disappointment should never cost this much. « less

As stated above, basic general standard one would expect from Holiday Inn Express. Good speedy check in and check out with car parking facility catered for. The hotel was very clean, comfortable and surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to main roads and its central location. We really liked the choice of pillow facility e.g. pillows labelled soft and firm. The reception staff were very helpful providing a map of the hotel location and other requested sites. We were very pleasantly surprised by how much sightseeing we were able to cram into our short stay. This hotel location was such a bonus! Breakfast was clean, nicely presented and fast if needs be. Tea and coffee facility available in the room. WiFi access. Very enjoyable, would certainly stay again and recommend to others. Thanks to all the staff. « less

Any issue, let it be a forgotten UK adapter or Wifi access - Macarena and her tram got it solved with a smile! We also stayed at the Hotel during a fire alarm and I can tell you they take it very serious. No exception, everyone has to leave the room, no matter the outside temperatur and to wait until the Hotel is cleared. So you better get warm clothes and your laptop if ot happens to you as well ... « less
