I checked in on May 14th, checked out on May 16th. I was never informed that extra charges would be added to my credit card. I was charged extra 60,00 in case of any damage to the room. I was told by Hilton Honors that this is a common practice 99.9% of the time. Was told to read my email, which I did, nothing noted on the email about additional charges. Never have I been charged extra from any of the Hilton Hotels stays, and I've stayed many many times.This is unacceptable. Also surprise to see they have a tiger special, they don't even have television access to the games!!!!!!! « less

I checked my credit card after staying in the Embassy Suites for my friend's wedding this past weekend and discovered a $250 fee. When I called, Ashley at the front desk informed me that it was a smoking fee because the room reeked of smoke, they found a cigarette box in the room and a pair of shoes. We absolutely did not smoke in the room nor did I leave my shoes in the room nor were any cigarette boxes left in the room (unless it came from the trash can while emptying our pockets). I told her I could send her a picture of my shoes because they are at home back in the shoebox they came in. We don't smoke in our home or vehicles so why would we smoke in a hotel room? Additionally, since I am a non-smoker I would know if the room had "reeked" of smoke when we left. Waiting for housekeeping to call me back but I am fuming! « less

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites Southfield, ME for a family function. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. However the hotel is in need of renovation. We had a corner room on the 9th floor. It had an extra window in the corner, however this window was so dirty that you could not see out of it. It admitted light, but that was it. The carpeting in the room was worn in places. We were surprised and delighted to have a stall shower, however the faucets and handles were loose. The shower door did not close properly.
Our biggest complaint was that our room was never made up. I arrived back at the hotel at 4:30, still no room service. I thought maybe they were delayed. Left the hotel at 6:00 and returned at 11:00 pm, still no housekeeping. I complained the next day. The front desk person did credit my account with 1000 Hilton Points, which was nice.
I will say that $100 for this room was a bargain ( AAA rate). However, it is not up to the Embassy Suites Standards we have come to expect. « less

I normally will say that Embassy Suites are one of my faovrite hotels. But this one is so worn out, that it definitely takes away from the experiance. everything from the chairs in the breakfast area to eleveators and carpets, walls , shower/tub walls and so on are overly worn out and major need of attention or replacement. The one nive thing was the big man who cooks your breakfast is very nice and trys hard to please you. « less
