My parents came from China to attend my graduation ceremony on the 18th May at Tulane University. At 5 o’clock in the morning on my graduation day, they were waken up by sharp voice alarms twice. The speakers were a man and a woman with African American accent. My parents don’t speak English so they called me to speak to the front desk in order to know what was going on. I was informed that it was false alarm and there were no apology. Then my phone was hanged up and my parents were pushed back to their room impolitely. All other rooms were quite. It only happened to their room, which is room 733. In the evening after my ceremony on the same day, I went to the front desk to see the manager. It was an African American lady. At first, she tried to push away the responsibility by saying that my parents set up a wake up call. But firstly, my parents don’t speak English so they couldn’t set up any calls. Secondly, the voice came from the alarm on the roof but the phone. Then she made apologies and promised to find out what really happened before we check out. The next day in the morning, I went to check our and see if they found out anything. It was a gentleman seating in that chair. He said the lady last night referred this issue to him but he was not on duty that day so he had no idea what was going on. And there was nothing he could do. He was unconcerned and not willing to help. Almost all of the workers whom I spoke to were not friendly and careless. This is a world-class brand anyway, I highly doubt the false alarm and the attitudes would happen to any white people. So if you are white, maybe. « less

This was the unnamed hotel booked through Hotwire, so I received a very good rate. I only stayed 1 night in May of 2012 for business purposes. The hotel is located in the central business district on St. Charles Ave, but the location is also in a very good location for tourists as well. It is only 2 blocks from the French Quarter and 4 blocks from Harrah's casino. Thankfully, it was quiet enough for me. The staff was polite. I didn't have any problems checking in or out. I had breakfast in the Veranda restaurant and it was good. The room was a good size with a mini bar fridge, but I couldn't fit anything else in it. However, the room was nice enough although at bit tired and worn looking, but it was clean. Just so you know, valet parking costs $36 per day plus tax. It must have taken them at least 30 minutes to bring me my car! Overall, I was satisfied with my stay here and would consider staying here again the next time I am in New Orleans. « less

Just a few blocks from the French Quarter, its a great spot. The only downfall was its on St. Charles Street and the street car runs along the street so its a little loud. We told them before we arrived that we were celebrating a birthday and they left champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room. It was a nice treat! The room was a good size and it was a little dated, but well worth the price. I can't speak to the amenities, we spent so little time in the room! « less

We arrived at 8pm on Saturday night. There was a short line at the check-in. I got to the front of the line to find a very cheerful Front Desk agent. He was probably happy to deal with anyone after the gentleman before me was rude, disrespectful and really quite mean.
I had booked my room through Priceline so I was not expecting anything but an average 4 star room. It could have faced a brick wall because people who book on 3rd Party sites are not a top priority and I understand this.
I tried to be as easy a check-in as possible. I asked if I could have a King Bed but understood if they did not. He said no problem. He had a complimentary upgrade for us because we were flexible. So we got upgraded to the Club Floor. This was highly unexpected. We had a very normal room but access to the club lounge for breakfast, afternoon drinks and appetizers. We could always stop in and grab a Coke or a bottled water. What a treat!
Overall the Hotel was a great location. Easy to get to the French Quarter, Casino, WW2 Museum and Super Dome/Arena area. Felt it was a very safe location. Lots of police nearby.
Check out was a breeze as it is at most hotels. Parking is $30/Day with Valet. Parked the car on Saturday didn't touch it again until Wednesday when we left.
Enjoyed the hotel and enjoyed the city, look forward to going back again. « less

From the moment we arrived until our departure the hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the local area. Although it was a distance to Jackson Square, it was walkable, and Bourbon Street activities were relativley close. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Thank you very much for all your assistance/followups. Our meeting went very well. The ease of using your site was just GREAT! It made my job so much easier. Everyone was very pleased with the location and accomodations of the hotel selected. I will recommend you to anyone I know that books meetings within our organization. It's a good site." S.D. - Grand Rapids, MI
"I had already contacted Marriott prior to finding your site, but you got us a deal $24 cheaper per night than Marriott was willing to offer! Also, since the rooms are blocked for our wedding, the website with our own URL was perfect. This was the most convenient and easy to use service I have encountered since starting to plan the wedding. I had the whole room blocking process done in 48 hours, it saved a lot of time and money. Thanks!" C.T. - Richmond, BC
