Nice hotel and front desk staff were very nice, however there are no convenient restaurants in the area, there is a bbq restaurant across the street, but it's a dive, but does have good food and a very funny and good bartender (he won bartender of the year 2012 in Atlanta, GA). But I wouldn't take any clients or family there. There is a very small bar at the Crown, but it appeared to only seat seven people comfortably. This hotel is NOT downtown or even in Minneapolis, it is actually in the Brooklyn Park suburb. Downtown is actually about 15-20 min., Mall of America is 25 min. with light traffic, 30-40 min. to the airport during non-rush hour traffic. This hotel would not be my first choice on where to stay location wise, it would actually be my third or fourth choice in regards to suburb location. « less

When I checked in the staff was great. When I got to my room I went to take a shower and there were no washcloths and had to call room service. ALS the Kleenex was empty. I just did not expect that. The however was clean and comfortably. The bed was excellent and the breakfast was very good. « less

We stayed at this hotel one night. It was an average experience. There was a party in the next room that went on mostly all night. This is not the hotel's fault I realize. But was loud enough, most anyone would have noticed. The pool area is nice clean, well kept. The hotel is the same, clean. The problem was in the morning after 1/2 the night's sleep cause of the noise in the next room, I had ventured down to check out what was available to eat. In the description of the hotel it says FREE breakfast. But I had my two youngest children with and had asked if they were to be free also. I was told no one was free because of the way the room was booked (hotels.com). Then another, possible manager joined in and said no free breakfast also. They were both really rude. End result was we paid for part of the breakfast (which was aweful) and went about our day. In the end to argue about what is listed as amenity with a customer was uncalled for. How a room is booked should make no difference on what is offered as amenities. I will not stay again because of this. The breakfast ended up costing us $23 plus gratuity and like I said was very substandard. Pool - nice, Room -nice, Staff - grumpy, Noises all night long - not so nice. Hope this helps anyone else wanting to book. Not terrible - average. Thanks. « less

My wife and I booked the hotel online through a hotel discounter not knowing at which hotel we would be staying. After we found out the name of the hotel we check the recent reviews. They were not good and we thought we had made a big mistake and wondered what we were in for. To our surprise the hotel was lovely. We had a spacious corner room that was very clean with lush bath towels. The staff was very friendly and there were complementary morning papers and delicious apples at the registration desk. We did not eat at the restaurant or swim in the pool but we will on our next visit. « less
