“Under construction, not a Safe Place for Families, Left in 5 Minutes”

This hotel is under construction and if you have children please reconsider staying here. I checked in with my children at 9 pm on the 27th of April. I got our room keys and was told our room was at the far end of the hotel. It was about a 5 minute walk through the hotel corridors, up stairwell, through another door leading outside and down another dark outdoors balcony area to a room at the end near the hotel construction vehicles, etc. This walk was extremely dark and led to a room with an external entrance. There were also several guests smoking on the balcony outside of my door. Upon walking into the room, it was dark as well and I felt unsafe for myself and my children. I immediately turned around and went back to the front desk where they said there were no other available rooms and they had no available options for me. I had to check out at go to another hotel down the street at 10 pm. « less

Thank you for your input. I was troubled to find that your family felt unsafe in our hotel construction area. There was, of course no work in process at 9PM. It's unfortunate that due to the very busy period we are experiencing, we could not offer your family a more suitable room. While the construction is a bit of an inconvenience it that particular wing, it is necessary in order to bring the level of those rooms up to our hotel's standard of quality. Some of the improvements to the far wing include refreshed walkways, welcoming planters and better lighting. We are excited about the project and truly hope that you will try us again after the improvements are complete - by approx. June 1.

I recently stayed here to visit my daughter who is a Freshman at UNC. I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and neat and the bed was comfortable. My room was quiet and I slept weell. Breakfast was more then just dry toast and coffee and had a good selection of choices to get my day started. I appreciated a restaurant and bar on location which made choices easy. The bar staff in the restaurant was friendly and inviting and I had a good time relaxing. Jess was a standout and made the evening fun and memorable. I will definitely stay here again. « less

I booked through Priceline and ended up with a musty room on the far end of the hotel. My friend booked through Expedia and had a much nicer room than mine. She also received a drink coupon and I didn't.
The hotel is undergoing many upgrades. The main part of the hotel was nicely updated but the wing I stayed in was older with external, drafty doors. If I rated my friend's room I would have a much better rating. The bathroom was small and the ceiling was cracking.
To work out I had to drive several miles to a Golds Gym because theirs was being renovated (also no hot tub). Lastly, the location is close to I25 but to go west into Loveland you have to go a mile east and make a u-turn. « less

We appreciate your input. It's unfortunate that, until our room refreshing project is complete, there is a disparity between the different wings of the hotel. Soon, the room you occupied will match up to the quality of your companion's room. Our drink coupons are affixed to the television, so that they are noticeable to our guests upon entering the room. I apologize that you did not receive one in your room. Thank you for your willingness to travel to the nearby gym. Our fitness center will be completed very soon, and we are certain that our guests will find it to be state-of-the-art. We are excited about the many improvements are are undergoing, and should you choose to be our guest again, I would like to meet you and provide you with extra drink coupons:)

I bought this hotel on a Priceline express offer - so had no 'choice' as such. As we only needed it overnight to cover some business in the area I was not too concerned.
First thing to say is that in two different cars, with two different GPS systems, neither of us could immediately find the place - we rather assumed that US Highway 34 East would be to the east of the junction with the I-25. Wrong (and in fairness there is a great big sign above the hotel) because the hotel is tucked behind a Conoco gas station immediately to the west of the I-25. The problem must be ours as other guests managed to find the place. Yes, you have also to go through the gas station to get to the hotel which at first glance is a building site with builders equipment, trucks etc and it seems there is much work afoot to tidy and improve the grounds.
Again, in fairness the reception area is large, well furnished and good - and one other minor point - in an early call to Emily to book a drive-up room she was totally pleasant and helpful; sadly her afternoon replacement colleague had had the personality bypass.
Now to the main thing - the room. Everything worked, it was clean and tidy. Despite the proximity to the freeway we were not disturbed by traffic noise. Breakfast was .... well alright. The hot offering was a weird 'egg casserole' - it might have been better to do a dish of scrambled egg - but the coffee was good and the breakfast area was not unpleasant. Would I stay there again? - quite possibly - but I might look at other options. I'll go back to see how all the considerable improvements to the grounds have worked out. « less

Thank you for your review! Your entry to the hotel was affected due to our improvements that are currently taking place to the parking, grounds and entry to the property. I'm happy to hear that this did not negatively affect your stay, and these projects will be completed very soon! I apologize for the inconsistency in your service level, we continually strive to offer the best guest experience, regardless of the team member you encounter. Your breakfast did not meet your expectations. We do try to alternate our homemade egg dishes to offer variety, and generally there are many items that please our guests. Your input certainly helps us to continually make our breakfast one of the highest rated aspects of our guests' stay. We look forward to serving you again:)
