In Chicago for an overnight business trip. The hotel is in a busy central downtown area.
Check-in was fine with a brief wait. Reservations were correct and they acknowledged my Hilton Honors membership. The hotel has a small lobby due to the footprint and was quite noisy.
Elevators required using the keycard. Went up to my floor. Had a king bed and the room was decent sized. Bed was comfortable. Otherwise free wifi is a plus. The bathroom was a bit old. Unfortunately it was close to the elevators which is exactly the opposite of my preference. My fault for being lazy late at night and not asking for another room. It seems folk like to hang out by the elevators to chat especially when waiting. Not conducive to sleeping.
Did get up early to use the small gym. A few pieces of cardio equipment, treadmill and bike.
Dined in the Weber Grill for breakfast (buffet) which was good. Probably many more choices nearby but we didn't have time to explore.
Overall, the HGI is a good value for downtown Chicago and quite convenient. A bit worn on the edges. Still if you get a decent price, hard to beat the location. However, choose a room away from the elevators. « less

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. While I appreciated hearing that you found our hotel to be a value with satisfactory amenities, I was concerned to hear that you found our rooms located near the elevator bank to provide a challenge with regards to noise. We are currently exploring some options with sound "proofing" some rooms to see if this helps alleviate noise both originating inside and outside the hotel. I hope that upon your next stay with us you find this situation to be much improved. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your comments and we look forward to having you as a guest with us again in the very near future.

After a red eye from LAX to O'Hare, we arrived very early to the hotel. Despite the the 6am arrival, our room was ready and we were able to check in. Everyone was very welcoming and we were briefed on all the amenities. Our room was impeccable and the view of the skyline, beautiful. After a day of sight seeing, the indoor pool and jacuzzi were sorely welcomed! The Weber Grill in the hotel offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the breakfast buffet was not your run-of-the- mill hum drum stuff. It offered made to order omelettes, waffles, and pancakes, and the best tasting Applewood smoked bacon and sausage I've ever had. The location was perfect for local restaurants, stores, the metro Red Line couldn't be any closer, and a movie theater two blocks away. « less

As a couple, we didn't need a lot of space and our room provided more than enough. Our view from the 22 floor was breathtaking. The housekeeping was phenomenal, our room was straightened and towels were replaced every afternoon when we returned. She even left us a Happy Birthday note. The location of the hotel downtown was so convenient. Everytime we left to venture out into the city, the concierge was there very willing to help us find our way. The valet gentlemen were so helpful when trying to hail a cab. We ate breakfast at the Weber grill twice as well as ordering room service from them one night and both were efficient and absolutely delicious. Everyone at the hotel was so very friendly and helpful. We would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn to any of our friends and are already planning on staying there again. « less
