Brunch today at the restaurant of the westin hotel. well located rue de rivolie with a view on the Louvre gardens. Very interesting place fairly dark with standard and non standard cooking/cuisine. You can get the best fruit juice quizz on spot, very good choice of seefood, the quiche lorraine is babulous (for the amateurs), good selection of tradionnal french cheese (smelly....) desserts are also interesting. overall many smaill glasses full of strange food but very testy on good looking. Price is OK except the wine.. to expensive for me. service is overall very good but not accross the piece. some are very good other less impressive (trainee may be). There is a voiturier who can take care of your car which is important in the area as too busy even on Sunday Overall a good expérience. « less

I've stayed at the Westin several times on business over the past few years. Any issues I've had were quickly satisfactorily resolved. This past trip I came back to my room after dinner and there was an unpleasant smell in my room. After a quick attempt to remove the odor, they switched me to another room which was an upgrade to a Junior suite.
The location is great as you are located near many places to visit and some very good bistros and restaurants. It's very easy to get around the city using the metro - much more convenient and less expensive than the taxis. « less

We spent 4 nights at the Westin Vendome and, even though we got only a street view instead of an Eiffel Tower view, we enjoyed it a lot. We had a fifth floor corner room overlooking the lovely roofs of surrounding buildings and there were three small balconies at each of the windows. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the sitting room with two corner windows was a nice place to enjoy a morning coffee and croissants. The staff was extraordinarily helpful, from just a smile in the morning, to steering me correctly to a wonderful restaurant, Le Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyons (I had mistaken thought it was in the Gare du Nord but the concierge set me straight) The location of this hotel is ideal -- it is across the street from the Louvre and within walking distance of much of what we wanted to see, including the Marais, the Opera, Galleries Lafayette, and the Champs Elysees. We enjoyed drinks and nibblies in the cozy bar twice after our feet gave out at the end of the day. In short, an ideal place to stay in Paris. « less

1) We booked a Superior King room and upon arrival we were shuttled into an extremely tiny room that was clearly not a King size bed. After several attempts to complain with the receptionist, the situation was escalated to one of the supervisors of the hotel. They finally admitted that--Yes, the room rate we booked was not available as the hotel was fully booked. We said, we reserved the room months ago and selling out of my room rate was not our fault and you should try to accommodate us. Finally after going back and forth for at least an hour, they reluctantly put us in a suite temporarily for one night, but said, we MUST vacate the room next day.
2) The next morning, we left for breakfast and were coming back to the room well before 12 Noon (which is customary for check-out) and we were already locked out of our room. The staff of the hotel didn't even inform us ahead of time of the lock-out. We understand that we needed to switch rooms the next day, but it would have been respectful to (A) help us with our bags; and/or (B) inform us ahead of time that our keys would be locked out before noon time.
3) When we finally moved to another room for the next 2 nights, the room was near the housekeeping storage closet so there was alot of constant movement and noise between the hours of 8am and 11pm. This was extremely distracting and made if very difficult to sleep. We informed the staff that we were staying next door and if they could be more considerate, but they were super rude and ignored our pleas. When we finally checked out to complain about the stay, one of the receptionists actually said "Room 4001, gee, we shouldn't have sold this room to you given the proximity to the storage closet"
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences in all my years of travel. Our expectations were not for the hotel to upgrade us or anything, but only to accommodate us according to the room rate we booked in advance. I would highly discourage future travelers from staying at this hotel. « less

This was my first experience at a 5-star, American hotel, in Paris. The five days at the Westin were fabulous! The hotel has a fantastic location, just across the street from the Tuileries and steps from the Louvre!!!! The room was spacious and quiet, and the entire property was beautiful and well maintained. The hospitality was amazing. My husband and I were on a trip he had earned through his business, so this was a property that was outside of our budget for a trip to Paris. First class all the way. The food was delicious for all of the events, and breakfast. The location is terrific for haute couture shopping, too! there is a spa on site, too. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be pampered in Paris! « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"My team and I had a great stay at the Marriot Norcross last week. I was unable to meet up with Ms Vanita and unable to passed her a box of Godiva Chocolates I bought for her. We will not even bother to seek other hotel-planning-organization after we have used your great service. You can even quote me on this. Meanwhile, we have to make 2 trips to the states every year from now onwards and will definitely use your services. Once again, thank you for making our trip a success." O.S. - Atlanta, GA
"I can only say THANKS....It was better than I expected. The hotel staff were superior, fun and very accommodating. Everyone only had good things to say about the rooms, the noise level, the service and the staff. Thanks so much for your help." M.C. - Vancouver, BC
