I had to find a hotel for regular travel to Omaha and after the 1st visit confirmed that this is the place to stay. Great location, close to tons of stuff, walking distance to tons of restaurants and tourist spots. The area is really nice, not crowded, we felt like we had the city to ourselves. There is room service but only at night and is done by the attached restaurant. The rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy. « less

The downtown Hilton Garden Inn is my downtown Omaha hotel of choice. It is dependable, walkable to both the Old Market and the Century Link Center. It is a quick drive to the airport too.
Internet is free but they are trialling a paid tier with higher speeds.
What makes it such a good choice is Spencer's - a nice steakhouse restaurant on the first floor. They have a spectacular bar menu and great happy hour specials.

On return trip stayed here again -- location, price and staff hospitality make this a great selection when in Omaha. Rooms are very nice, gym is accomodating in size and equipment and breakfast (if HH member -- free) is good. Spencers restaurant is attached to the hotel for a great steak (high end in cost given all choices in area) and/or a drink.
Easy walking distance to Old Market area and at most a 7-min drive to the airport. And the staff will shuttle you to various places in the area by simply asking and setting up a time to go. The hotel still looks and feels new -- Internet Speed is very fast. In fact, hotel is offering High-Speed access for $3.95/day (free for HH members) which seems to be quite fast compared to normal offerings by hotels.
Tip: Don't miss the evening cookie special as they are quite large and very delicious....not too sure on the calorie count. « less
