This was a quiet, out of the way spot which is nice if you want to lounge around the pool, scuba dive or snorkel. However, the front desk could use a hospitality refresher. Our key card would not work which took a few hours to sort out after several back and forth trips to the front desk, which was a good distance away, and an offer to change rooms. The grounds and pools are very nice as are the wait staff and bartenders, who buy the way turned us on to some incredible rum! There are no other restaurants nearby, except the fish shack, so that is also a limitation. The food was very good in the evening, but other meals were average. The dive operation was well operated and the snorkeling out at Gilligan's Island was very enjoyable. April seemed to be a low season and only one restaurant was open during out stay. It was a very relaxing spot for a few days away from busy San Juan, but nothing to do at night. « less

I thought I'd found a steal when I booked our Deluxe Ocean View king room, and I did. Then we saw the prices on the mediocre food! We spent on average $125/day on food. There is ONE restaurant within walking distance (1/2 mile - the next are 20 minutes away) and the front desk told us it was a takeaway kiosk, which turned out not to be true (sadly we found this out after we returned home). The resort is WONDERFUL. It's gorgeous. There are 2 large pools, 2 kiddie pools, 2 hot tubs, cabanas & lounges on the beach and lovely grounds to stroll. The room was excellent with a balcony and view that was fantastic. The gym is adequate. TIP: hit a grocery store on your way in. Bring your own wine! Theirs is VERY overpriced, their pours are skimpy and the corkage fee is $20 a bottle - so wait until you're back in your room to have a glass! ANOTHER TIP: If you want to go to Guilligan's Island, walk over to the ferry (you'll see it on the left of the bay as you stand at the dock) and go from there; it's bound to be cheaper than what the hotel charges, and it's not "closed on Mondays" - that's just the day the hotel doesn't go over there. We wonder how the resort would be at high season because there doesn't seem to be enough tables at the restaurant or chairs around the pools to accommodate a full house. It's really a great place, though, and we'll go back if we have a chance. We'll just bring our own breakfast and lunch items, and plenty of wine! They make a mean Mojito, though. I wish I could have afforded more than one! « less
