Ive been staying at the Parker for the last six years, multiple times a year.
This hotel used to be an amazing stay, and now it is starting to feel more like a corporate stay hotel, than a "luxury" hotel. Here is why:
* Concierge- The concierge desk is closed after 10:00 PM. I needed reservations to restaurant, so I waited until early the next morning to ask for the concierge's help. After giving her the restaurant & my contact info....never heard back . Not even a courtesy call. NOTHING. Have no idea if she made reservations on my behalf, of if she tried to accommodate me in another similar restaurant.
*Room Climate service- People, this is 2013, there is NO excuse for this kind of hotel to still have centralized building AC/Heating. Every time you call the front desk and complain about the lack of AC in your room, they send an engineer up to open the window. This has been going on since I started staying in this hotel. You know how noisy NYC at night is? Try sleeping in when is trash day.
*Towels- The towels need to be replace after a while. Specially when they are laundered in heavy detergents like they are in hotels. The towels last week where like sandpaper.
*Wire Hangers- REALLY?
*"Mini Bar" - The mini bar is not a fridge. So if you want a cold drink in your room... well I guess you are out of luck. And if you want a real mini fridge, they will gladly send one up for you, at a cost of $40. Thanks!
*Overall room decor- They finally got rid of the Giant TV's and replaced with flat screens in the last couple of years. However- the room decor in general is VERY drab. In bad need of a refresh. Also- Maybe its time to get rid of Modem wires.
I like most of the people at the front desk, and I do like the location. But I think this was my ls my last sojourn at this hotel. « less

Spent a nite recently on a sister's trip to NYC. Booked on Priceline and got a great price for the area and hotel rating. Location was great...easy access to Central Park and Times Square. Lobby is lovely but not huge. Not someplace to just sit and people watch. Plenty of hotel amenities which we did not have time to take advantage of. Staff was courteous. Room was adequate. Bed was very comfy but the furniture and decor overall is showing its age. View from the indoor pool at the top of the hotel is super but not someplace we felt like we could sit around to relax and enjoy the view...so I was disappointed a tiny bit. Overall, very happy with our accomodations. Would recommend and would return. « less

The location of this hotel is fantastic. You can walk to Central Park, Times Square and the subway is minutes away. But the hotel itslef was disappointing for the price. To pay over $400 a night, then be charged to use the pool, gym etc. is ridiculous. The room was quite nice, but odd lay out to have no closet. For a high end hotel, the bathroom amenities were more like a lower end hotel chain. No coffee maker, no water. Luckily there is a Starbucks across the street and a nice grocery store around the corner. The housekeeping staff were extremely friendly. Lawrence at the front desk was very welcoming, but the concierge was not helpful. Our room was quite high up, and it was nice to have 2 banks of elevators. Loved the cartoons in them. All in all, the location was the best part of the hotel. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"I will definitely use your service again in the future. I am so impressed with how much you followed-up with me and how helpful you have been. So, a great big THANK YOU to you and to your company for making the process as painless as possible. Hotel searching can be a daunting task with so many options in the area, but you made it so easy!" D.D. - Jacksonville, FL
"My middle school band and I have been extremely pleased with the service we received from your company. I had many choices for hotels very quickly and the hotels I considered were all excellent. Even after I selected our hotel, your agents stayed in contact with me periodically and even arranged a free upgrade of my room to a suite! What a nice surprise! I plan to book my next trip through them and would highly recommend them to my friends for their group travel plans. Thanks for a great experience." C.C. - Grove Hill, AL
