Recently stayed at this hotel before a flight. The room very dated, marked, old fashioned. Restaurant very expensive and cold food, took ages to arrive and staff totally not bothered. False fire alarm and full evacuation at 1 am. Left stood in car park for 45 mins before being allowed back in. Staff hopelessly trying to do a roll call with a loud hailer - absolute joke, in the end they have up. People in room next to us didn't even evacuate and nobody realised. Only plus is the location. Avoid is my advice. « less

Checked in was quick and efficient wakeup call was offered and accepted, with my room on the 7th floor. The themed room was clean but looking a little tired especially in the bathroom. For a hotel aimed at the business man and short stay guest using the airport why or why do hotels still install baths!! One it looks so dated, two you end up standing over the plug hole to get near the shower. One of the bars/restaurant on the 3rd floor was closed for renovation but the bar on the 9th floor had good views of the airport. My wakeup call never happened!!! Meaning I would miss the main meal of the day breakfast if I wanted to be in our Manchester office on time for my first meeting of the day. On check out I explained this to the receptionist who was full of the usual apologies and promises of we will make it up to you on next visit. Not really a fix for me as a full day of meetings and a flight out of Manchester connecting in Copenhagen left me going without a main meal for the day. « less

This is the second time we have stayed here prior to flying out on holiday the next day. It was good the first time but they certainly have focused on delivering great customer service. The hotel is currently have a make over but you wouldn't know it. The food and service in the restaurant was excellent with nothing too much trouble. The room was well equipped with a bed to get lost in. The stay and fly service was first rate and when travelling out of Manchester airport in future, I will always use the Radisson. Well done, great service across the hotel making a dream start to our holiday. Thankyou « less

Today we visited the Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport for a spa day, after hearing good things about the hotel! Unfortunately, we were left disappointed by the whole experience. We arrived early for our treatments only to find that there was absolutely NO spaces on the carpark and were advised by reception that if we couldn't find any space (not even on double yellow lines!) then we would have to park on the airport parking!! This was at a cost of £16 for a 4 hour period!!! We parked on the airport then went into the bar for food. The menu was ok, if a little pricey, but the service was not great! The staff were not very attentive and did not seem to particularly enjoy their job! it took quite a while for the food (2 club sandwiches) to arrive and then we had to go straight down for our treatments! When we arrived in the health club - in the basement - it was in darkness! They had had a power cut, which consequently meant that none of the facilities were available (steam room, sauna gym equipment etc!) We therefore sat in darkness, in the middle of the gym, for quite a while before being taken upstairs (to a meeting room) for our treatments. The room was airconditioned and therefore cold and was simply 2 treatment beds in the middle a conference room!! Not really the relaxing ambience you might expect from a spa day! There was no relaxation room to go into after the treatments - we simply had to sit back in the gym! Consequently we left - as we had to get back to the carpark before we got charged about £38 for over 4 hours!! On a positive, the girls in the spa were lovely and were also annoyed with the powercut! They worked as expected and gave good treatments. Granted, we do not blame the hotel for the lack of power, but the carparking was insufficient, resulting in us having to pay extra for parking and the fact that the treatments took place in a conference room is extremely disappointing. This was not a cheap deal and so we were expecting a higher standard of facilities and service, from such a "highly rated" and expensive establishment! « less

I went to the radisson today with my mum & sister for our treat to our mum for Mother's Day.... We found out in October our dad has cancer & thought this would be an ideal way to give our mum a much needed day to herself after constant trips to and from appointments with our dad...As we both have full time jobs & our married with families you can imagine to get a free Saturday between dance classes and football practice with our children we were thrilled to be all spending a spa day together ...also knowing my dad was well enough to spend the day at home feeling quite positive and happy mum was having a break....how wrong could we be!! We arrived and had our 2 treatments each at 10.30 & then settled down to spend our day relaxing round the pool having a swim & sauna etc... The renovations caused a complete closure of the spa not even any lighting and we were asked to leave!! No compensation No offer of a revisit nothing!!! If I'd had wanted a massage & facial I'd have gone to a beauty salon!!! We didn't we wanted a spa day!!! Can't explain how incredibly disappointed we both were more for my mum really.... Terrible treatment from the staff in the spa saying there was nothing they could do it was the hotels fault! The hotel said the spa was nothing to do with them they simply rented the space!!! A real shoddy experience & treatment overall from the radisson I'm deeply gutted my mum didn't get the day she soooooo deserves!!! BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE !!! I shall be emailing tomorrow the hotel & the spa but from the way we were treated today I really don't hold out much hope!!! « less
