We had a toilet that did not work and the guy replaced the entire tank 3 times - he was unable to get it to work. The worst part was that it was about 11:30 PM and finally around 1:00 AM he gave up and moved our room. My kids were trying to sleep through it all, but his walkie talkie and his cellphone seemed to be on full blast. The worst part is that we had to get up early the next morning (6:30 AM) so we basically only got about 4.5 hours in the room. Nobody at the front desk even acknowledged there was a problem or offered any kind of apology when we checked out. « less

This was simply a beautiful hotel with wonderful and charming staff. Perhaps the only thing this hotel could be said to suffer from is too much eagerness to accommodate the guest, sometimes at the expense of practicality. The staff was all incredibly helpful, happy and friendly. Everyone always had a smile and was always very professional, calm and courtesy for all eventualities. Considering we held an event for over 100 people, the hotel did all it could, plus a few extras, to help us make the event a success. Of particular note, Johnny Dawson helped procure some equipment for exhibits. Employees like Freddy Rivas and Yolanda Honor went above the call of duty to provide some help in accounting and transportation. Other employees like Joseph Knight and Shirley Dials always were ready with a smile and to offer any assistance required. The concierge station and airport shuttle drivers (the hotel is only 15 min away from airport), including Byron, Solomon, Eddie and Ahmad, all were always ready to help with a bounce to their step and interesting information to share. Thanks in part to the staff at the hotel, the event was a great success.
I would highly recommend this Sheraton hotel for all events or other business in the Birmingham area based upon the courtesy of the staff, the proximity to the airport, its location right on the trolley line and the excellent accommodations and services made available by the hotel. « less

We were in Burmingham for a wedding and wanted to stay downtown since the reception was in that area. Don't get me wrong it was not horrible, but I think that some people pay over $100 a night to stay here. We booked through hotwire for $78 and that was a great price. I would have been very upset if I would have paid "full price." It was kind of clean...until the roach in the shower. The staff was nice no issues with that. The parking was $8 a day to self park (and we did). The location was fair. « less

Everyone seems to like their job and are very cordial and pleasant! Rooms are nice and spacious! Hotel is right next to the highway, but you don't hear anything (cars and trucks flying by on the highway) while sleeping. The view overlooking the city at night is breath-taking; city skyline at night is beautiful! « less
