TERRIBLE! Ok, fine....they don't want anything "insulting" to be posted. Then they CLEARLY don't want an actual review. Whatever. All I can say is, unless you want to walk through a hallway that reminds you of the '80's, as well as the scene of the movie "The Shining" where the child says "Redrum", DON'T STAY HERE!!! I couldn't wait to get to my room and double lock my door!!! The only saving grace of this stay was the oceanview. It was beautiful. But that's not controlled by the hotel staff. That's the only reason that wasn't ruined. The rest of the stay was terrible. We did not receive a visit from housekeeping (that was pleasant) and, while they advertise free internet, it's WIRED INTERNET!!! I have an IPad that can't connect to wired internet!! WTH???? Thankfully my husband's phone was a "hot spot". But advertising free internet is very misleading. Not cool. « less

Stayed one night for a function on the Hilo side of the island. The hotel is definitely outdated, especially outside. The room we had was updated and clean. Was disappointed with Internet. The rooms have free wired Internet service but no wifi. Free wifi in lobby. Didn't use the free continental breakfast. Light hallway and parking lot noise reaches the room. Parking lot at night has a seedy feel to it. Hilo doesn't have many hotel choices & overall the Naniloa is an adequate budget hotel stay. « less

A hotel with no knowledge of what hospitality means! The Aloha Spirit is absent from this dirty, unfriendly staffed pathetic excuse of a hotel. On a business trip for 8 weeks, Naniloa made it hell. Our room have never been dusted once, the floor is dirty, I had to buy a broom to sweep my own room? The sheets on our bed weren't big enough to cover our mattress, the towels are old, thin, and smell bad. If you forget to put do not disturb sign on your door, the house keeping will barge in on you, if put the sign on then you won't get your room cleaned for the day! The rooms have no hooks in the bathroom or anything to hang or store your toiletries, the rooms have no drawers either. Only one elevator of the 3 works, so you will have to wait for 5-15 minutes to use it. Hilo is beautiful, if you want to enjoy it Don't stay at Naniloa. « less

This my second stay here and reaffirmed what I thought on my first stay. The staff is good and goes out of their way to help, but the hotel feels like it is deserted at times. The breakfast buffet is ok, but not for me. There is no real restaurant at this location. The rooms are ok, but has wooden panels to afford privacy, instead of curtains. Parking is awkward a distance from the lobby. « less

we recently visited Hilo and stayed at the Naniloa. I feel the same with previous reviewers. The place does need a little TLC. we found the staff to be more than helpful. The room was clean and fresh. Furniture was a little dated, but the bed was comfortable. The buffet breakfast was adequate. The locations was good. Close to the bay and the Chinese gardens. Great for those who like to walk or jog. Some restaurant close by and had great access to major roads to the attractions. We thought it was good value for money. « less
